MAC - To The Beach Discussion

I am seriously considering cutting back my pre-order list to just 2 Marine Life's, Sun Rush l/d & Flurry of Fun l/g. I am trying to go through my stash and sell stuff I just don't use anymore & there's a lot!

Oh btw, Elegant I posted another FOTD for ya doll!

You've got a point there. I will stop in and see that she's not there and talk to the nicer lady there. I almost think she's a manager that I spoke to a few weeks ago. I at first thought she'd be like the blonde but man she was soo nice! Treated me like a human and was just so nice!

I just got back from the pro store and I am floating on air! They had Marine Life!!! I was with a friend and on the elevator up we said "they better have it; That's all I know. They better have it." Sure nuff, they did. She immediately yelled out for two and I said one. The guy went in the back and then I swatched the powder. After I picked my jaw up off the floor, the guy returned and I said sorry, but you have to get me another one. I need two! Can you say stunning?! No hype here, it's all the real friggin' deal. Gorgeous and vibrant and insanely smooth. GET IT!

I also got Sun Rush Lustre Drops (beautiful), Thrills Lipstick (a wonderful coppery, rose summer color. A frost for sure and pretty opaque), and Fun Bathing (Deep reddish berry that reminded me a bit of Pret-A-Papier lipglass. This is my personal favorite lipstick).

Ok, I also got two more items, but I need a special focus on this so here goes: Believe me when I say, ladies, you need Flurry of Fun. This thing had me giddy from the moment I swatched it. It is unlike anything I've ever seen. Ok, imagine Liberated and Gold Rebel lipglass from style warriors and Comet Blue D/G got it on...you'd get Flurry of Fun! It's amazing, it will sell out and I plan on getting another one before it sells out. It is truly gorgeous and universally flattering. The teal shimmer in it is amazing wearable.

Not a part of this collection is the new nude pigments. I keep forgetting if it's called Nude or Naked, but the lightest one makes my heart happy. It is a stunning fleshy beige with pearl and it can be used in different ways. It can be used on the browbone, or in the inner corner of the eye (which is where I'll be using it). It's a bummer that it was sold out, but a very nice MA gave me a sample. The thought hadn't even crossed my mind.

Other items I didn't get: Hipness. Swatching it after Marine Life, it falls extremely flat. It's chalky and quite sheer. No thanks. The bronze colored blush barely showed up on my fairly light hand. The pink lipstick, for the fairest of the fair and unpigmented lips. Beachbound (? The goldish lippie), looks beautiful swatched on the hand. I do plan on buying it and wearing it with Flurry of Fun. I just decided to leave a couple of things behind for now. Splashing lipglass: Very pretty, however, not unique enough for me. It's a bit more tame than pink poodle. I didn't notice any shimmer, but it looked kinda milky, settling into the lines in my hand pretty quickly. Pink rebel is pretty, but Sun Rush seemed to stand out more on my skin. The cream bronzer and the powder bronzers left me unimpressed. Total blah. No eyeliners since I have the same colors by MUFE and the lipliners underwhelmed also. I don't need a bright orange lipliner.

Sooo, my final verdict is, if you are on a no buy, get over it. Don't miss this and kick yourself in the arse for years to come. This is my favorite collection of the year so far, replacing my beloved Pret-A-Papier!

Swatches on hands and lips coming. I have to go through the pics I took and pick the least unattractive ones.

Sorry, girl but I had to speak the truth. Trust, I was all ready to swatch it and go "meh" and tell the guy nevermind, but I simply couldn't do that. The word of mouth on this thing is legit.

Here's a pic of Chartreuse and it seems to me that Sweet and Punchy has a little more of a yellow undertone but both are really nice and quite similar...

Its just that I am thinking that it is so pigmented that it'll last me years! Don't know what to do
