MAC - To The Beach Discussion

i am wearing my sand and sun over nyx milk and i used a stiff brush and the color actually showed up! it showed up kinda boldly, to be honest. it might be because i'm fair (though i did get tanned last weekend) but i think it is because i used the top layer off and it is showing up more. you def need a brush that can grab it, it is a really pretty color, though.it is glowly for a matte (that's been said here before and it's true)
im wearing it with tempature rising and chapstick on my lips and prim and proper on my cheeks

(btw i love TR and chapstick, it makes it a soft yet still kinda dark/bold lip stain)

I'm feeling pretty happy, because I went back and gave Thrills another try and it looked better the second time. Think it had something to do with the fact that the second time, I saw it under natural light. So today I have a smile on my Thrills-wearing lips. (With ML as a blush and a sort of bluish-grey smoky eye thing I tried this morning.)

I tried In the Buff on one nail and the colour is very interesting, it's almost a nude (or maybe light taupe) on me (one coat) with a greyish/greenish cast. I still haven't decided if I'm going to get it. I got a huge giftcard for Mac from my bf since it's my birthday tomorrow!

He is so sweet, he wrote Rose Romance on the cover!

I'm in Mac heaven!!

I looked at it for a looooong time and decided not to get it. It is interesting, but somehow I am not sure it suited me

yes! and get this they are selling going banana shadow for 74.99 right now. HA well now its being re-promoted, so they need to fall back on that!

He sure is!

In the Buff is those kind of colours that keep haunting me. I think and think of them for so long. There's something special about it, I'm just not sure if I should get it or not.

I so know what you mean, the same for me. Those were my exact words to the MA. So I nearly bought it so it could not haunt me any more

Y'all are dangerous to my bank acct. I'm going to pick up TR and FOF today and ML is on the way to me from a friend. I was prepaerd to skip this collection until the reviews kept coming. Totally missed the launch of this collection bceause of "mommy moments". My 12 yr old son had a recital the night of the launch party. The week of the actual launch I was busy with my oldest son's high school graduation. I am now the parent of a University of Oklahoma freshman.

First of all, I want to say that my counter only received 9 pieces of Marine Life - all of which were already sold out via pre-orders before the collection even launched today. Totally insane! If not for Karin, I wouldn't have been able to get one of those for myself.

I loved how Marine Life was so pigmented and coral-looking, so much more impressive than Hipness (which I skipped). Temperature Rising, all I can say is - WOW. It sure is a very stunning loudmouth orange color. The combination of Temperature Rising / Beachbound / Flurry of Fun is really pretty looking (as you all already know), but I skipped Beachbound because I already have Sunsational lippie which is a close enough dupe for me as I'm desperately trying to cut down on my expenses. Scorcher is pretty but isn't terribly unique; In The Buff was just plain weird, and it did kind of look like puke (sorry for being so graphic). Get Away Bronze is such a pretty reddish/pinkish-bronze color, very glowy and gorgeous. I couldn't stop staring at my cheeks after I applied it on; it may in fact be my fave item among those that I have purchased. I advise you to try this on first though, because although it looked great on me (NC35), it looked kinda muddy on my friend (who's slightly fairer than me but she has more yellow undertones while I'm cool-toned). Thrills turned out to be much darker than I had expected, and I didn't try it on because my MA talked me out of it... but I might have to go back to try it.

I'm happy with what I hauled for now though.

Did I mention that I managed to tempt my friend into hauling 4 items for herself too?

My To The Beach look today - I'm wearing Shimmermoss over Delft PP, with Club in the crease and Naked Lunch+Vapour as highlight. Marine Life lightly on the cheeks (more the pink side than coral)... and Life's A Breeze lipliner with Easy Lounger + Lazy Day on top... love it!

I'm so tempted to get Sun & Sand... it sounds so pretty and it would round out my TTB eyeshadow collection. I think the person that called it a "glowy matte" sold me... haha

yep! i'm nc20 and very blonde and it suits my colouring well. i'm still sad that they have dc'd delft because it is my fave paint pot and is perfect for teal looks!

So I need some advice!! What can I use to apply my flurry of fun l/g so that I don't ruin the applicator? I was going to wear it today over funbathing, but then the first wipe left my flurry of fun applicator dark. I don't want to taint my flurry of fun, I don't have a backup!! HELP!!

Using a lip brush to apply Flurry of Fun, or any other lipglosses for that matter, will help keep the applicator clean and to help prevent any transfer of lipstick to it. Usually I like to smooth out my gloss with a lip brush.
