I'd say skip Lust if you already have Crystal Pink (Lust is very close, but a little bit darker and pinker) then get both Simmer and Tropica!

Tropica is duo-chrome with lots of pinky-purple compared to Blue Orbit, but Blue Orbit, being an EDES, is a little smoother texture. Tropica is very much a sheen MES, not a glitter one.
Thanks! I'm an msf freak so it's hard for me to skip one but I think you've talked me into it

. Crystal pink is probably my least reached for msf...so I suppose I can skip Lust.

Finally got to test TT. But they didn't have Lust in or the lip pencils or the new 159 brush. And i couldn't find my camera, so no photos. Sorry. It's Saturday and so my local MAC was jumpin'. Someone was getting their makeup done in "the back room", so they kindly put all the TT products they had in a basket and let me test them by some showcase shelves on the main floor. It was a little awkward so i didn't get to do the kind of test i would have liked, but at least i got to see them.

First, let me say:
--- Blushes and MSFs are not glittery - shiney, a little sparkly even, but NO glitter, so if you do not like glitter, these are well worth testing.
--- Eyeshadows, on the other hand arm, are varied, some quite glittery, although fall-out levels vary, and some are only minimally glittery.

BLUSHES

You can definitely get the colors out individually or blend; while they are not exactly halfsies, the colors are pretty well separated with a few curls of each extending into the other.

Exotic Ember is at its essence orange and brown. The orange looks pretty matte to me, while the brown has a lovely bronze-y sheen. On my pale skin it does look a bit muddy, but i suspect on olive or darker skin it won't look so muddy. You may be able to wear one half as an orange-y blush or the other as a bronze-y blush.

Simmer is rosey-peachy, probably wearable on many skin tones, depending on how much you put on. At one angle both colors look matte and at another angle they have a lovely sheen. On my arm, at least, the sheen is close to the color of the blush, with a hint of gold. I might get this... haven't decided.

Sweet Samba is a rich pink and a shimmery tan that is somehow both warm and cool. It does not at all look muddy or dirty on me. The pink looks matte at one angle and has a lovely sheen at another. The tan seems to have a sheen at every angle. Blended together, the tan mutes the pink a bit. And the tan may work alone as a highlighter. This is the one i'm definitely getting.

MSFs

First, as i said, they didn't have Lust. Second, I cannot do them justice since i could only swipe them on my arm, not my face. Third, i was using my 128 Split Fibre Brush which worked ok, but probably not optimally. So either by design or because of my brush, the MSFs did not go on as intensely as i thought they should, i just don't want anyone to be disappointed. They may be wearable as blush for the very pale, but if you're medium or darker they are not likely to work as blush, but rather as color enhancer.

Rio is muted pink with bronzey and pearl shimmer. Adored came out a brighter, but still muted, coral. Both have color and sheen that changes at different angles and in different lights. On my skin they are clearly different. I haven't made up my mind which i want - i still need to test Lust.

EYE SHADOWS

They had all the shadows. I tested them from lightest to darkest. All have fine glitter, some had more annoying glitter, as i will note. All seem to be somewhat striated, so it's likely you can get each color out separately if you want to.

Dare to Bare - It may be "just another cream" as another reviewer said, but, well, i love it. In the pan it is creamy ivory and pale cool lavender. It goes on smoothly, the lavender gives a hint of color in some lights, and the sheen is ever so slightly pinkish. This is a very basic color for me, the kind i wear daily. I'm definitely getting this one.

Caribbean - i love pink eye shadows, but not this one. It was dry and the color went on patchy. At first, all i could see was the coppery glitter. I don't hate it, but it is definitely not at the top of my list.

Tropica - first you broke my heart by not being a lip liner. But you made up of it by being beautiful. It's a light-medium cool lavender with a lovely blue duochrome sheen. It went on smoothly with good coverage. Glitter is minimal. To me, this is the very best of the e/s in this collection. You are forgiven, come to Mama!

Time to Tango - Blended this is a warm mauve-y/taupe-y lavender. It is almost neutral, so i think it will be very versatile. It has glitter, but it seems to enhance rather than detract from the shadow.

Cha-cha-cha - The chartreuse-yellow part was not as pigmented as i hoped, and the dark part was, well, dark, and not very distinct. Blended it made a dark khaki green. It was minimally glittery. I did not find it exciting.

Bossa Blue - I wasn't really sold on the colors to begin with, but i like to give everything a try. You never know when something will be a pleasant surprise. Sadly, this was not one of those. Both colors went on dry and patchy individually, and they were quite difficult to blend. It has minimal glitter, although the dark cerulean blue has some sheen. On me it just looked kinda dirty. Down to the bottom of the list you go.

LIP PRODUCTS

I did not test all the Cremesheen Glasses. In the tube Fever Isle looks bright reddish coral and Calypso Beat looks light peach. Japanese Spring is a cool pale milky pink.

I did test Narcissus. It is similar to other magenta-pink purple lip glosses that have come out recently. It is a creme with no shimmer or glitter. I hope it stays on my arm long enough for me to compare it with some others. Because i have a few of them (Heroine, Mirrored Plum), and it is pinker than i like, i'm skipping it.

And i did test Midnight Mambo. I am a fan of the Mineralize Lipstick formula. MM is definitely NOT "Intense violet", as MAC describes it. In the tube it looks like a dark purple-plum. But on the lips it is so much lighter. It is yet another of those blue-y pink-y magentas that MAC has made so many of lately. If you love this color - and can't get enough - or want to give the Mineralize formula a try - you may want to add this to your lipstick library.

Thanks for your thoughts! Dare to Bare and Time to Tango sound lovely. I just can't whittle down my list lol. Maybe I'll be able to come back for seconds on this collection. I was surprised how long everything stuck around after last year's mineralize launch.

Got to see the collection - well, what was left of it anyways. No Narcissus, SS or Simmer left (all being held for others, I presume), so I'll get that online. Unfortunately, no testers so I didn't get to swatch anything. Still not sure about Rio (really wish I could have swatched it) so the sure things for me are still Sweet Samba, Narcissus and the brush ($35), which I'm so excited to use.

Do you have the 131 to officially compare them?

I don't have the 131, but I believe that the Sigma F15 is a wannabe dupe of it (maybe?), and I can compare it with that for reference.

Thanks for posting. Do you think you can skip the 159 if you already have the F15? One better than the other? Thanks!

The 159 will apply colours more intense than the 131 or F15. So they definitely have different effects.

That Narcissus cremesheen is everything omg I def need that also.im not excited for the blushes or shadows but all of the lip products look fab
Shit. I forgot about the glosses. Adding Narcissus and Fever Isle to my list.
I got Oh so Fair beauty powder, Her Own Devices BP, Her alter image eyeshadow and devilishly stylish lg.before I only had hot house lg lol . I want sweet joy eye shadow and I will be happy!
Yep, I have Oh So Fair BP (x2), Devilishly Stylish l/g, Innocence, Beware! l/s, Sinister l/s, My Dark Magic and She Who Dares.  Love them!  Hot House sounds like a beautiful color!  Every time I watch the "Once Upon A Time" series, I think of this collection.
When VV launched I previewed it in the back room and wanted nothing. A few months ago I realized my stupidity and have since been able to acquire: Briar Rose, Oh So Fair, Her Own Devices, Bite of an Apple, Darkly My Dear, Toxic Tale, Dark Deed, Sinister, Innocence Beware, Heartless, Violetta in the maleficent tube, Wicked Ways, Devishly Stylish, Strange Potion, Wrong Spell, My Dark Magic & She Who Dares. Best part? I paid retail or barely above retail for all of it! My CCO still has Vile Violet & Sweetjoy. I need to add those to my stash!

My location says San Francisco Bay Area. I shop for MAC most often at the MAC on 4th St. in Berkeley. My mother lived in San Diego, so i sometimes visited some MACs there, too.
I go to school in Berkeley and live in Sf! But I never go to the stores, it's too crazy to park. But this collection is making me twitch! Do you usually need hook ups with an SA to see stuff?

I've barely used my F15 since I discovered my Real Techniques blush brush, so I just used both brushes with Earthshine. A bit of a challenge to photograph it well so pics aren't the best: Left 159 / Right F15
e788de17_image.jpeg
c4d8f94c_image.jpeg
I used the same number of swipes in both picking up the product and in application. The difference seems minimal, however when I looked more closely at the skin, it appears that the 159 blends the product in more and with better distribution of color. Now when I used these brushes with Hot Nights blush, I also used the same number of swipes to in product pickup and application, while also being mindful of keeping the pressure the same. One thing I noticed right away is the 159 applied the most product at the point where I started the swatch, which was from the top (more noticeable I'm the flash pic), so keep that in mind. The F15 provided a more sheer application. I also love how the 159 didn't sacrifice the sheen of the blush, and it makes me question my sanity that I had not broken out HN and used it before now. The 159 is a keeper in my book!

I've got the 131 and I'd say your photos are a good size comparison - the 131 is a touch longer and flatter on the top than the dupe. 131 is for sweeping, while 159 you could sweep and have a narrow line or you could hold the brush vertically and pat instead. 159 is

VV is my first and all-time favorite MAC collection as well. :eyelove: Between my counter and later CCO hunting, I ended up with every single LE product except for Cajun MCLP (too dark for me), the pink/purple Maleficent MES (couldn't find), the nail polishes (couldn't find), the pigments (didn't want), and the mirror (didn't want). I have backups of a lot of the products too. My second favorite collection is a tie between Semi-Precious and Heavenly Creatures. That's why I'm so bummed about this collection. So few things I actually want! :(

liba, does Dare to Bare have glitter too?

Or are Caribbean and TTT the only ones with glitter?

Thank you!
Cha Cha Cha is very pigmented right out of the pan - if 100% is the densest Veluxe Pearl powder shadow, I'd call it a 75% or 80%, which is about as good as it gets for a non-frosty MES dry out of the pan.

All of you gals who are on the fence about this collection - go and see it in person. It's a very different collection that takes some wrapping your head around and even then, it won't be for everyone's taste. The most surefire product out of the whole collection that everyone will for sure like is either the brush or Simmer MB.

The most surefire MSF is absolutely Rio but all these MSFs are a little challenging and more for evening wear, unless you're adventurous. The most surefire MES is Bossa Blue, because it's easy to get 2 distinct colors from the pan and they're both pigmented, plus the blue is the best kind of MES sheen and the brown is matte and very flattering. Although, Tropica is very special if you're OK with pastel shadows and/or frosty shadows (I love Time to Tango too, but it has glitter). Out of all the lip products, you can't go wrong with Narcissus, but if you have it already, the next best is Calypso Beat, which edges Midnight Mambo out by a hair, just because MM is a color we've seen before so many time, but CB, which is also a color we've seen, is the best version of that type that's come along - it's an excellent peachy nude gloss for the whole year.
