I wish mac will repromote this color as they did for Hypnotizing, another HG for me from the sorceress palette (I guard this palette with my life

HAI is about the same level of violet but a bit more opalescent.. I am speaking of Magnetized from memory because I do not have it in any samples. ( I do recall the collection though and MAg was like a BI but a little lighter).. HAI would be a good dupe for Magnetized imo

all three are actually good dupes for each other

i just swatched the palette colour next to HAI and to me they're almost identical.

I may even buy 2! this is my favorite color and I save it only for special occasion so I wouldn't hit pan until I have a dupe for it.
I am not a fan of Beautiful iris, just couldn't make it work on me, no matter what it would turn dark and muddy on me

They look better and better with each swatch.

Personally, some days I REALLY love wearing Young Punk or Blue Flame not only dry, but also lightly applied with a fluffy brush, with maybe only a little packed on close to the lash lines and the rest diffused up past the natural crease. Skip mascara and only use liner on the bottom waterline, if at all.

I love the sheer but smudgy effect it gives and it's a great look to wear simply with a sheer-ish dazzleglass like Funtabulous for hanging out at an outdoor cafe or bar in the late afternoon. Just enough sparkle for the sunlight to pick it up but still subtle. Very stylish!

For sure that's what I'm going to do with the new MES here. I'll use the lighter shade, the green or the pink, on the lids and under the eye, with the darker shade in the crease and diffused up and out and also in the outer part of the lower lashline, over the lighter color.

Cannot wait to slap those bad boys on my eyes and go out and about!

Are MES pigmented? Or will I have to do acrobatic jumps in order to make them show on my lids?

The Style Black ones, which these seem similar to, I'd describe like this: the base color is pretty sheer, but there is a ton of sparkle. Because of this, you can get a lot of looks from sheer to heavily metallic and foiled, depending on if you use them dry or wet, over a base or not, and also depending on the type of brush you use.

For ease of use and good opacity, just pack on with a wet brush and voila!

Maybe I just need to see more swatches of these MES because you're making me think it could look pretty if you work with it. Ahhhh I don't know!

when used wet mes are always pigmented on me

either with water, fix+ or the water based mixing medium works a treat
smiles.gif
and you can always use a coloured base as well to amp up the colour

I love the metallic effect! I am not sure of the sparkle one, because usually I get my face brightened with sparkles all around my cheeks -_-'
Is mixing medium the ideal choice or is water better?

Fix + is a Godsend! I love that stuff. It makes everything more bold.

Thanks for the tip- I will be trying this look on myself. Now I'll have to add some Fix+ to my shopping haul.

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

After looking at all the swatches, the only thing that is tempting me is Heartless lipstick. Which will be hard to justify since I already own several red lipsticks that work for me.

I want something from Maleficent thought, just because I want a compact with her on it. What to do.......I don't know. I may skip it all, as much as I love the idea of this collection, I'm not feeling it as I thought I would. Holding out for A Tartan Tale, which I hope is amazing.

^I could skip Heartless lipstick and get the glosses out of this collection. A lot of pretty ones that could be worn now and all the holiday parties!

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

I now remember that I wanted Heartless lipstick. I'm not going to get it, though. I'll stick to Bite of An Apple and Toxic Tale. I'm eyeing a red lipstick from mufe instead. I have several of them and I get 5 hours of solid wear through eating and drinking. Can't beat that.
