i made an appointment for the event at my store for the 8th of feb. i think i'm not going to bother reserving any products or anything like that for this launch, and just go with whatever happens to be there at the time of my app. i don't really feel like racing to get stuff, and would prefer to take my time...there are so many nice products in the launch, yet a lot of things also look similar to previously released products, i feel a bit over and under whelmed all at once!

I'm going to skip Spoiled Rich Quad since it's dupeable. I have Stars N' Rockets, Vibrant Grape and Constrast that haven't been used in awhile.

Based on the pre-list. I'm getting

  • Betty Bright
  • Ronnie Red
  • Cream Soda blush

I might be getting one of the pearlmattes because they look so cute! I'm still not sure about the quality though... I know that the Vera ones were a bit on the chalk sidie. So based on people's reviews, I might give it a skip.

I was on the fence about getting the quad. I thought maybe I should just customize my own quad since I have somewhat similar colors in both betty and veronica quads that are from the permanent pro palette eyeshadows. Then I saw customizing your quad x4 was $57 and the palette was $44. Needless to say I'll just be getting the quad here since it's cheaper plus the packaging is pretty neat.

I was at a CCO today and got to try a vera pearlmatte and it was horrible! I rubbed my finger in it and tried to swatch on my wrist and nadaaaa! No colour transfer at all. I tried it twice more, rubbing a little more aggressively and barely got any colour on my wrist. Perhaps it had gone bad from being out/swatched for so long and needed to be scraped first but this confirms I shouldn't get the Archie pearlmatte! I'd really wanted it coz of the packaging mainly and thought I'd get to try a new product but oh well...

that was my initial experience with the vera pearlmattes also... but i ended up loving them.

they dont swatch well at all...like you said, it seems like theres no payoff....but i bought them anyway.

i use a stipple brush and really swirl it on there and it transfers to my cheek fine and it looks really natural.

that was my initial experience with the vera pearlmattes also... but i ended up loving them. I use them as an all over powder and there is definitely a glow. I don't think they are meant to be swatched because its not how it would be used. they dont swatch well at all...like you said, it seems like theres no payoff....but i bought them anyway. i use a stipple brush and really swirl it on there and it transfers to my cheek fine and it looks really natural.
