Did you manage to arrive at a consensus or is the jury still out?

Well, the two having the discussion were a rather far-out cutey physicist who creates his own musical instruments and a professional tabla player. The physicist wondered if retrograde was meant - which would require playing each piece from the last note to the first - our music is not written down, so we wouldn't be able to do that easily. The other wondered if backwards just meant playing the pieces in the reverse order they will be performed in the concert. It was more theoretical than practical, so, no, not really...
