slather on some vaseline on your lips at night before you go to bed. if you don't want to use straight-up vaseline, they also make this "vaseline lip therapy" stuff which is glossy. i have the cherry kind and i prefer that over regular vaseline. and then throughout the day i use carmex (the click stick chapstick - not the carmex in the little jar) in cherry or strawberry and it really helps to keep my lips soft!

exfoliate your lips, and befriend Aquafina Lip Balms and Lip Oils. they seriously saved my lips. when my bottom lip cracked and bled, I wore nothing but lip oil, and by the end of the week, it was healed. they moisturize up to 2-3 hours, and last for ages. my beau's gram got me 3 trio packs for christmas just to make sure I was always in stock.

only downside is that there's no SPF. if you want to spend mega bucks, go for shiseido's sun protection balm...its got a hefty helpin of SPF in there.

Try Aquaphor Healing Ointment!! I can't stress enough how this works with so little amount. Apply it day and night. No matter how cold or dry the weather is, my lips stay moist all the time.

This may sound weird but I usually put vaseline on before showering and then scrub it with a towel when I'm out of the shower, I like this better than the toothbrush because it's too rough for me. Then I just apply lip balm or more vaseline.

You know what else worked for me?

Aveeno Intense Relief Medicated Therapy. That stuff was great. Also Aveda Lip Balm (though it may be discontinued... I'll check at work later.) But I'd actually go Aveeno if ya can. It worked for me, though I don't doubt anyone else's ideas, either!

I sleep in vaseline mixed with Shea butter or sometimes aloe vera... The raw stuff... Smells odd, but in the morning, I can just smooth my lips out with a washcloth and ooooooo...

During the day I use Carmex, and it takes care of any other peeling issues.

if you put vaseline every night before going to bed you should have no problems. I do that every night, and some days I forget it and IMMEDIATLY I can feel the diference in my lips.
