If you are looking for a water based lube, I use H2O. It's not sticky and it's long lasting. I do find that it does tend to absorb a little quicker than I'd like, which is why I also enjoy the silicone based lubes, like Gun Oil. Awesome, awesome product. I'll never use another lube.

On a side note, werd on the Nuvaring. It's in and I don't have to think about it for three weeks. Sure, you get the monthly periods, but only for two days -TWO DAYS.

Dude at first i took those birth control pills, seasonal that is, and i felt horrible. I waited out the first 6 months and i couldnt take it anymore, i felt like i had the sex drive of a 90 year old. You know there is a reason why we have a period every month, and im pretty sure we shouldnt be messing with that monthly cycle. Actually you may seem fine on a birthcontrol even after several months of taking it, but it slowly catches up to you and even after 1 year or 2 years your sex drive can lower to nothing espeically when you were fine before and your still very young.

I swiched to orhtro tricyclin lo and things have gotten a lot better.. Ky water based jelly doesnt hurt either =], it feels like your natural... uhh wetnes.

I'm not a doctor but your symptoms and issues are a lot more common than you would think.

If you have a low sexual desire, I'd think about switching your birth control up. Being on ortho evra for example killed my sex drive, I never wanted to have sex at all. Honestly, it would be weeks between having sex, I didn't even feel like a sexual being. Since I've been off hormonal BC in general, that totally turned around and now I'm back to my normal self.

Keep in mind that new couples tend to have a lot more sex than couples who have been together for a while. There's actually a psychological reason for that which I read about. Scientists think that new couples seem to have a lot more sex because the act psychologicially and emotionally binds the two persons closer together, which is condusive to encouraging reproduction. But once a couple has already bonded, so to speak, the need to have sex as much as intitially fades.

It depends on every relationship how much you two decide to have sex, but if you're not happy with it right now, it's definitely within your power to try and change things up.

The other thing is about it hurting after you climaxed. Some women get extremely sensitive after having an orgasm, so if he starts at it right away once you're done, it can hurt. The best thing to do is just wait a bit before he keeps going. Have a bit of a cuddle, chat, maybe give him a BJ or just focus on him for a bit before you go back to intercourse. It will give you time to "normalize" again and to ease up on the tension.

If you feel like you're suffering from dryness, another common side effect of BC pills, use a lubrication.

Everyone's advice on this thread is really helpful & much needed. You all have given me MANY options to think of! My SIL is on the Nuva ring and loves it, but I'm afraid I've sticking stuff up my crotch (LOL) but maybe that will be another option to explore. I'm definitely going to call the nurse at my OB/GYNs office and talk to her about different BC options and in the meantime, invest in some lube

I've got one word for you ASTROGLIDE. It works wonders. I've got the same problems you do (big time) and the pain in my stomach is usually b/c my man is such a man (know what I'm sayin')
winks.gif
Also, I have endometriosis so that doesn't exactly help, but for the burning, the ONLY thing that has help me is astroglide. They have a type that is preservative free or something like that. After your "finished" if you start to feel some burning, or even better, before you do, slather up and re-start. Good to go.

If it continues, see your doc again. Hope it gets betta!!

Seasonique is the BC where you get 4 periods a year, it's just like Seasonale, except I believe Seasonique came out after Seasonale.
Anyway, you take the pills each day for 3 months and you even take the last week of pills that are usually sugar pills in other kinds of BC where you get your period once a month. You take the last week of pills because they contain low hormones that you must take.

Believe me, it's AMAZING only having 4 periods a year. Although, I know a lot of women do not like Seasonique or kinds of BC pills like it that let you have 4 periods a year because they have breakthrough bleeding in between their regular periods. I don't have any breakthrough bleeding whatsoever and that's why I like Seasonique so much. My last period, was only about 3 days long which was a miracle considering how I usually suffer for about 5-6 days with the "rag".

I used to be on Nuva Ring and I loved it. Everyone gets weirded out by sticking it up there, but its not hard at all, u fold it in half, stick it up there, try to get it up kinda far (u kno what I mean) and literally, ONCE it unfolds u cant feel it at all. I used to get my boyfriend to check and see if it was still in there, because I had trouble feeling it lol. There may have been a few times he could feel it during sex, but trust me it didnt kill the mood

When u take it out, u just hook a finger onto it, and hook it on out LOL....seriously I loved being on it, it was my favorite birth control because u have to do absolutely no remembering. I just can't remember if it made my period less/easier...I'll have to go back on it and see

Not to mention that the patch is terrible. there are so many lawsuits against the patch...like seriously...I'm surprised they still even sell this? I was getting a birth control once and asked aboutt he patch, and the Dr told me he would not prescribe ANYBODY the patch anymore, because of all the terrible side effects and problems with it.....

Agreed with CantAffordMac. The ring is awesome & I can never feel it. Sometimes I double check to make sure it's still there & it always is. They also give you little stickers to put on your calender to remember when to put it in/take out...which is good since you could forget

are you serious? i was on it for a month about two years ago, and didnt hear anything bad about it. my dr. said that it was just like anything else, and that sometimes people with sensitive skin have break outs. Then again, she didnt have many patients that went on it. I believe it was fairly new to canada then (but i could be wrong)
Anyway, im glad i'm not on it anymore.

I dont mind if nuva doesnt make my period lighter... i mean it's not pleasent, but i dont have periods from hell. I think i'm gonna look into it.

Anyone else that has tried the nuva ring, how'd you like it?

Be careful with Yaz. I was on Yaz for two months and I ended up getting blood clots in my leg. So not fun. I found out after I got the clots that Yaz has a higher risk for clots than other birth control pills.

I have seen numerous lawsuit commercials on TV for the patch, I get emails constantly about lawsuits from the patch, I've just heard a lot of bad things about it,. I work in a pharmacy and I asked the pharmacist about it once and he had no clue what I was talking about. I dunno...I wouldnt want to risk it. I guess I could do a little more research on the patch to find out for sure, but I was never on it, so i guess thats why I wasnt too concerned.

I'm glad ur not on it either. I realized that I hijacked this thread (I'm sowwy)

Well, I will warn you that since I've been on Yaz, I have gone crazy lol It has made me terribly angry, irritable, etc. It's very on and off though. But I've been thinking about switching to something else. However, I've had no weight gain or anything, my period only lasts a few days, and I haven't gotten pregnant, so they work lol. They'll work differently for each indivisual person but even one of my friends agreed with me, that she was very irritable too.

I hope you figure something out. In my opinion, I'm a little sick of birth control pills. .

favorite lubes? liquid silk is a good medium consistency and and maximus is a great thick lube...just depends on what you like. i might suggest this: ♥Mixed Lubricant Sampler♥ | Condomania Online multipack so you can try lots of things out and just see what is most comfortable. i am super picky about this stuff. just try to avoid the silicone ones if you are prone to yeast infections...they are baaaad news.

also, i have a non-hormonal iud. it's something the doctor puts in and it is good for 12 years, but can be removed at any time without damage when you are ready. i love it. i had so many issues with all the hormonal methods because they just messed my emotions and my body up! and this way i never worry about missing a pill and it's 99.999% effective. i've had it for almost 4 years and i am so glad!

Apart from the birth control thing (which i think can be a big part of this, my sex drive and lubrication was seriously reduced when I was on the pill), it could actually be that your vagina dries up and the blood flow decreases after you've come. Women get "hard-ons" too - when we are horny, blood flows to the vagina and the labia and other parts, so they swell up, making you ready for intercourse. It's NOT just about lubrication. After you've had an orgasm, your body thinks "OK, sex over" and your "hard-on" goes away. That might be what is causing the pain.
How about he comes first, and then you? Or you switch to oral after you've come?
