Nail Polish Discussion - Any Brand

My next set of home-made polishes - these are OK but not as good as some I've done:

Signs & Portents - these flakes look much nicer in the jar than I have made them look in polish. I have a lot of different mixes (one of my Etsy purchases) so I hope I find something I like them in!

Waverider - another attempt to use those stars, another fail! Pretty colour though. I think I will make some toppers with them instead.

Minbar - I think this is the nicest of this set, I like the components and you can see them!

I've started a new FF group buy and tagged your hubby in it. Hope he doesn't mind too much. I still haven't heard from Sophie about when the existing one is going to be shipped, but hopefully soon.

I haven't bought any polishes lately. I quite liked the look of some of the new Glams, but then I was thinking they're not that dissimilar to older ones, so haven't ordered. My ex is now paying me less since my youngest has turned 18, so I need to really curb my spending. I'm lucky he's still paying me because my salary barely covers my bills, food and petrol. I've got a tiny payrise, but it won't go far. Everything is so expensive now.

I'll see if I have time this weekend to upload my mani pictures. I'm driving my youngest your way to a camping trip (near Eastbourne) this afternoon, so probably not today. But I'll see if I can find the time tomorrow.

I was really happy with my FF birthday discount, managed to use it for the new WF release, and talked myself into a few I'd skipped before, but the price was well worth it, thanks for starting a new GB x

I seem to have an infinite supply of dark purple polishes, but I liked the red shimmer in this one!

I know! They are totally invisible, just don't seem to be able to integrate them in anything!

Did Sophie message you about your missing order? This is what she told me: "Apologies - the delay is due to Garden Path, the stock is really really delayed and is only shipping to us now - so it will be here next week. It will have to go in the next shipment, and I'll reach out to Anne to let her know and to also send a credit for the delay by way of apology." She's usually very good. Hope you like your new polishes. I got some really nice ones.

I'm back with mani pictures. First is Emily de Molly Lace Man topped with Lacquer Lust Mind Over Matter on the accents. The EdM was nice, but the overall mani wasn't as good as I expected.



Next is Glam Polish You Can't Stop the Beat. This was really nice with lots of sparkles.





This is Different Dimension Zarya. I liked this a lot too.

Hi Anita, hope you had a good time in Hungary and that the family are all doing well. I finally had my cataract done so I have been offline a lot too. Bad timing, as it's also the end of financial year for me so I have been a bit manically busy while trying to limit screen time!
Sophie did message me and sent a discount voucher for my next order - as I'm not short of polish, I wasn't in a rush, just a bit annoyed because I'd worked it out to be a multiple of four for shipping and that was a fail!
I love my new Wildflowers though, so thank you for enabling.
I also love your order! I never buy Girly Bits these days (too many brands to keep up with?) but I'm distinctly envious of those - your whole haul has a beautiful cohesive colour story to it that I love! I expect I have a lot of the KBS ones, I've been bulk buying those with Nailland recently - I didn't shop the brand for ages and when I started again they've been some of my favourite purchases.

Yay, manis! Good to see your nails again! I have things to post but no time to sort the pics... will try to make an effort. My fave of these is definitely the Glam, I think I've worn that one and loved it on me too. The DD looks so very interesting, love the vibe on that one.

I have of course continued shopping like a lunatic, this needs to be curbed soon. Picked up some Glisten & Glows from PBE release and Victorian Varnish and HHC have again teamed up to let me get some of the August releases shipped via Fiona. I was so pleased about that - I messaged to find out if they had sorted UK shipping out and ended up getting a few very limited edition polishes ahead of the launch, which was lovely of Tammy. She's really cool, we got to chatting and seem to share a sense of humour!
I have been looking at PPU this month - I can't remember the last time I wanted so many, narrowed it down to 6 but the Nailland restrictions mean I either have to start a new Nailland box for them or whittle down to 3. I don't really want to start a box before I've shipped the previous one, so I think the KBS, Wildflower and Rogue are going to have to go. I will have to make a final decision soon.
I have been so stressed about my Stackry box! Those Bluebirds... probably shouldn't have ordered them. I decided to swallow the storage fees to get them, she said she ships in a week from order and I paid for priority mail to get them quicker. Then she said she was launching on 14th - but actually launched on 12th, which was much better for me. I placed the order, expecting to ship on 19th. Didn't ship till 22nd, and it sat in pre-shipment till 24th, grrrr. Then on 24th tracking updated - I'd expected delivery on 21st! Then the status remained unchanged and it looked a bit odd - turns out what they'd accepted was a pallet of mail from them, but they didn't unpack it and scan individual packages for full acceptance till 28th! On 29th they gave me a delivery date of 31st (today) - but though it's finally reached Nashua today, that delivery date just changed to tomorrow I have about 4 days until my Stackry absolute deadline, it had better get there on time! Fees will now be much higher than I expected. This is my second shipping crisis with Bluebird - the last onewas in a PPU order and shipped weeks after expected because the BB was late arriving. Should have been warned. I will be for the future though.
Anyhow, must get back to work, will try to sort those pics out soon! Take care xxx

OK, here's the first set of pics. These are the last polishes I made.

And I made the one-coat black creme for testing toppers (Goth Boy) and the pretty flakie topper (Ballroom Blitz).
I was pretty pleased with all of these. I'd have made more since then but I'm banned from any activity which could get anything in my eye since the op and I figure powder pigments is a no! So maybe next week I can have another bash at this!

Hi Anne, hope your eyes are recovering well. I ended up with Covid, came down with a cold on Monday evening and tested positive for Covid on Tuesday. I decided to work from home as I didn't want to infect everyone in the office, even though I didn't feel too unwell (it was more like a cold really). Although I was struggling with the heat as my dining room (where I work) gets the full sun in the afternoon and it was very hot and stuffy in there. I'm glad it's finally cooling down and I'm feeling better now too.

It was very hot in Hungary, I was sweating constantly for a week! It wasn't the best trip, we flew out on the day of the big IT outage, so were delayed by 6.5 hours! Not a good start. My middle one decided to stay in Budapest for an extra 3 days and in Vienna for 5 days afterwards, so I was very anxious the entire time. Luckily they got back okay yesterday (despite nearly missing the plane and giving me a nervous breakdown in the process). Anyway...

Thank you, I also really like my polishes. I'd not bought any GB in ages, I really like her polishes, but I don't buy from the US now, so I never order from her. Haven't bought any PfD in ages either, I wish Sophie stocked them. Oh well, I don't exactly need more polishes.

I forgot to say I owe you 88p, do you want me to send it to you, or use it for the next lot of group buy?

We're sad to announce that we are no longer able to distribute Wildflower Lacquer. We hope to pick back up in 6+mo depending on Taylor's workload, but unfortunately for the moment please consider all stock final. The capped preorder is still running for this newest release, Luminescence; but if a shade actively sells out during the preorder it won't be restocked on the site. I haven't even looked at PPU, I try not to as I don't want to place an order. At this point I really don't need any more polishes. I'll probably continue to buy from Femme Fatale and possibly HHC, but I'm restricting myself to them.

This is Emily de Molly Boats n' Hoes. It was very hard to photograph correctly, it always looked too blue.



Finally my current mani, Lilypad Lacquer Pinky Promise. This is supposed to be a dupe for Enchanted I'm Kind of a Big Deal, but mine has faded (the EP), so I can't compare them.





I also need to take pictures of my pedi, Tonic Polish Rose, but I haven't got around to it yet.

I wore a few other polishes, but didn't take pictures. I think this is already quite an achievement to have so many to show you!

Oh no, Covid strikes again - I'm still masking to try to keep it out of our house, so far so good. Glad it wasn't too serious though.
You are so unlucky to have picked that day for your trip, sounds so frustrating, and I know the heat isn't your favourite so that must have been a pain. I'm glad your eldest got home safely.

I just try to save my PfD purchases for Black Friday these days - though I did just get Barbie on the Boardwalk from RC, and the neons from Nailland as they never last until November.
