NARS Eye Paints / Gel Eyeliners

Mesopotamia is a lot cooler than most browns NARS carries and if you've had the chance to swatch the Via De Martelli LTL Eyeliner Pencil then it's definitely a lot cooler than that.

I'm really curious to see how these perform versus Mac's Fluidline formula, but also against YSL's gel liners, which are my absolute favourites. As with most of the Nars line, they fall between the two on price point. I'm most interested in Tatar and Snake Eyes, since I don't really have similar shades, but basic black, brown and grey are always useful too. I'd be particularly interested in Mesopotamia if it's a COOL brown. Most browns have a warmer, reddish element that looks terrible on my eyes. I've struggled to find something that's still brown, but with a greyer, cooler tone.

And compared to fluidline these dry much quicker (compared to most gel liners/eye paints, although these aren't described as a liner) and you'd have to work really fast if you're planning on using them as a shadow

Thank you for your impressions. :) It sounds like they're similar to MUFE Aqua Creams.
Do you have any favorites?

Here's a video of Cindy Rodriguez using Mesopotamia and Iskandar as eyeshadows on a stunning model!

And using Mozambique as an eyeshadow then Black Valley as an eyeliner.

Too bad....I really wanted to use them mainly as eyeshadows/bases.And that is no fun if they dry very quick

My favorites are definitely Soloman Islands, Iskandar, and Monzombique. The color of these are absolutely gorgeous.

They're absolutely gorgeous as shadows and bases but the drying quickly can be a problem for a lot of people, but the color payoff is absolutely amazing. And the brush for them is stunning.

I only own a couple (and tried a few others), but I'm super happy with my NARS brushes. The Yachiyo is fantastic, I don't have one bad thing to say about this one. It deposits a subtle wash of color and makes it look like the color comes from within.

You're welcome! Not too long ago, there was a discussion about the Yachiyo and it did get lots of love from people here.
For reference, I am very pale (NARS Siberia + Chantilly), so I need a light hand for my blushes, especially the super pigmented NARS ones. The Yachiyo is great for diffusing color in a natural way, and I don't have to be as careful with it as with any other blush brush. Also due to its dome shape it can be used to apply eyelighter, or even eyeshadows for a sheer wash of color all over the lid.

Ayway, yay Eye Paints. The angled liner does seem nice. I do wonder why it's #38 though. I imagined they'd keep it in the 00s or 10s (the 20s being the Kabuki brushes). But #38 it is! I may overthink all of that, lol.

Maybe! I haven't found better for blush application. It's quite pricey so only you can decide if it's a good investment but personally I never regretted buying it, and I use it everyday.

Btw, I meant highlighter, not eyelighter. :p

Some Eye Paints swatches from The Beauty Alchemist. Yay! Check the source for a small review and another picture.

NARS YACHIYO FOR ALL!!!

OK, perhaps I get too excited, but I adore this brush. It is an investment, but I use it so much I've actually thought about buying a second one, just so that I don't wear the first one out. It's fantastic for application, layering and blending and for achieving any intensity you want.
