Just to update about the liquid blushes: I LOVE them. I've only been wearing them since they arrived and I'm beyond impressed. They go on easily and my heavy hand isn't a problem because they are so blendable. Also, they last all damn day in crazy heat & getting caught in the rain. Nars needs to come up with new shades and take my money.

I agree with you 100%! I purchased orgasm and got samples of luster and torrid. I didn't think I would like luster but I'm wearing it today and love it. I can't wait to layer some of my powder blushes on top. I think Charlotte Tilbury first love would look amazing over luster. I've got a feeling luster and torrid will be mine soon.

someone already posted swatches, one page back. it is casino and laguna

Yup...still waiting for more. Those swatches are heavy and on one skin tone. I want to see swatch comparisons with BdS.

AND once learning what the other dark shades are...I already have Laguna...so ultimately this may be a skip.

Me too! Do we know when it's dropping? I'm going on vacation the last two weeks of July and this would be a great single palette to bring.

I don't think we actually know yet. All of the pics I've seen so far have been from the Singapore preview and all the bloggers from there have said July. So who knows if it'll be July too for the US/Canada and whether it'll be late or early July. Last year's gifting collection was spring and not summer so I'm wondering if this will end up coming in conjunction with the Nordstrom anniversary sale.

I have been wearing Ephelide and Double Decker continuously since I got them. What great glosses! I hope they release more in this finish.

I got samples of Orgasm and Torrid over the weekend. I really like Torrid; Luster is just too light for me. I'm wearing Orgasm now but need to go outside with a mirror to content myself that my cheeks aren't gold! The bottles are huge; I think they'd last forever. I think I may get one to try out more fulsomely. Now I just need to decide which...

p.s. Karen now has annoying advertising that cannot be muted...and continues with the oversized, unflattering, too-close-for-comfort images! I did message her nicely about it and got no response...oh well.

I can't look at a picture of her anymore without wanting to BLOT the everloving hell out of her. Yes, yes, glowy is on trend. I get it. Looking like an oil slick, not so much. Combined with the extreme closeups, it's really not a flattering look for her.

OMG! Truth! I'm sorry, but I could not agree more. I don't say it to be mean and try to be positive. But all of what you said plus the ridiculous trendy stupid language she uses…I just cannot. I am sure others have told her how uncomfortable her extreme close-ups are too. Oh well.

I have a hard time reading anything she reviews because she always goes off on a tangent about something or other. All I want from a review is the facts about the product and the reviewer's opinion - I don't need a story. The other thing I've noticed is that she never seems to give anything a negative review - it could just be she chooses to post only about the things she likes.

I don't mind the occasional chatty tangent...but I am of an age where the use of juvenile language for the sake of being trendy and "trying" to appeal to a much younger audience is annoying...OMG Totes Amazeballs...Right?!? *eyeroll* I AM OLD...LOL! Also because she is not a teenager herself...I say this not to be mean...just a preference for more sophisticated and simple communication. Yes, I agree...her reviews tend to always err on the positive...I am sure she gets many press packets and does not want to see them stop coming...

And now back to our regularly scheduled NARS discussion...I love the liquid blush! I am wearing Torrid today for the first time and it blended beautifully into my foundation...I dusted a bit of MAC Hushed Tone & Just A Pinch over it. Happy pretty day! :)

From mua Lottie Tomlinson/lotstar on periscope. Swatches of the new Power Matte liquid lips. I didn't write down the shade names but the periscope is still up if you want to check it out. Apparently it will be out July 5 on the Sephora app, July 6 Nars website and boutiques and I think it will be back at Sephora and other retailers July 13.

I'm crying because I used to mention the extreme closeups of swatches when I used to be on the Mac side of this site. Seriously, those swatches give me anxiety. I just don't think you can get a good idea of what a product looks like when it's that close. I also brought up the troubling fact that she seems more like a cheerleader or a spokeswoman than an actual reviewer. Rag on temptalia all you want for whatever you want, but she will go in on a product if it doesn't do what she thinks it should. Sometimes Karen's swatches are so busted (because the product is obviously craptastic) and she like jeah this is totally workable and I'm like oh honey nooo. No.
I still check out her blog from time to time just so I can get some kind of swatches when they're scarce, but it's not my fave spot. I don't care for the lifestyle stuff or chit chat. The lives and interests of beauty gurus just put me to sleep.

Back to Nars, though. I swatched Luster and Orgasm b/c honestly I am desperate for more shades, but I don't think they'll work at all on my skin.

I don't always agree with Christine's ratings (I always use primer and I have often found shades she wasn't happy with plenty pigmented), but I respect that she has no qualms about saying when she thinks something is crap. I often don't love some of her newer full face pics because she tests random items together, but I think that's a function of her trying to churn through a ton of items rather than create looks. I sometimes have to scroll up or down to cover eyes or lips because the shades she's wearing clash so much or overpower each other, but I really like her sneak peaks and the swatch gallery. I think she has a specific testing methodology and tries very hard to assess products objectively; it doesn't bother me if I have a different opinion of a product.

I haven't been of fan of Karen's site for a very long time. I don't do cat blogs (seriously, I have pets too but how many pictures of that damned cat does she have to post week after week, and does she really think the fake cat star bit charms anyone?), I loathe all the Connor Claire product flogging and she isn't remotely honest about product reviews. I only visit the site when I'm desperate for product swatches. Usually a single visit is enough to put me off for a few weeks again.

I ended up buying both Orgasm and Torrid. I'm about NC25, and I didn't care for Luster on me. I much preferred the strong contrast of Torrid.
