There are tons of colors to choose from it depends on what look you want to go for I personally LOVE Mulch I think its a must have
My other favs are:
Tempting, Expensive Pink, Coppering, Swish, Satin Taupe, Carbon, Beauty Marked, Retrospeck, Soba.
I also like Aquadisiac, Swimming, Juxt, Plumage, Electric Eel, Purple Shower and Hepcat
To get your colors brighter use shadesticks under them. Basically ou just have to get a bunch of colors and experiment.
But I started off with Mulch, Retrospeck, Expensive Pink and Tempting and built my collection from there.
A good thing to do is check the FOTD's and get a few colors and try some of the looks.
