I think someone needs to tell Hilary Duff's makeup artist that she is so breaking the rules by pairing brown shadows with Hilary's brown eyes. How faux pas.

i agree there are no makeup rules. i have blue eyes, and i used dark blues all the time.. i wouldnt use lighter blues, becuase in my opinion it makes me think of the 80's
what kills me the most about situations like this is that it is all based on opinion. clearly you like the green on you. maybe this girl doesnt agree. but thats her opinion. its not right or wrong but shes speaking as if she is the be all end all of makeup application.

The best part is when she called me "dude". I know it's the thing right now, but it made me feel about 800 years old.

Man, I'm in the school of "thanks (then I look them up and down, like they're covered in mud), I don't remember asking for your opinion." I'm never very good at gracious when someone is rude to me. It seems to work for me, just like my Fresh Green Mix on my fresh green eyes.

Rules, what rules? I don't do my makeup by following someone else's
"rules". Yes, there are certain things I won't do according to the situation
(for example: no sparklies or glitter at my work...private school environment that is VERY conservative) but mostly at least with me, anything goes. So don't worry about rules because there are NO RULES in makeup. Whatever makes you look and feel fantastic is the way to go!

I agree with this! The only "rules" I may follow are what's appropriate for the occasion I'm heading to? Going to a conservative wedding? Just like I wouldn't wear a slutty red dress I'm not going to wear ridiculously bright or sultry makeup. But going out to party with my girlfriends? Definitely going to play up my features in order to make me feel best, to hell with anyone else's opinions!
