No More Backups

I've never bought back ups of anything, I just don't see the point. Most of the time, the only things I do repurchase are things like foundation and concealer and the MSFNs, since I use all of those on a daily basis. I think I've bought 3 Shroom eyeshadows in the last few years, just because that is one I tend to put a dent in.

Congrats to you though for giving up the back ups. You can do it!

It really is useless to buy a whole bunch of the same thing,and if you like it so much Google some dupes for it from the permanent line or another brand!

Thank god I've never bought backups, cuz I'd be even more broke than I am now. With that said, I just realized that I have 3 fascinating pencils in various lenghts (I use it everyday), 2 boot black liquid liners, and 2 of both of the eye shadow quads from smoke signals. But wait, I can justify them. I got the 2 extra quads cuz I have a makeup stash at my boyfriend's house so I dont have to haul my stuff back and forth constantly.
and one more thing...do backups of brushes count or are we just talking of product here? Either way, I just realized I'm guilty too

never understood why people buy backups of makeup...especially when they just end up selling it later, giving it away, or throwing it away....but I guess when you're soooo in love with certain products you don't wanna vision life without them...LOL

The only MAC backups I have left are of a few of the lip laquers because I LOVE them and am still really bitter that they are now gone. The day I run out of Poco Pink the entire world will hear me cry.

Otherwise I have gotten rid of all my backups and don't intend on buying others. Although I am tempted to get a backup of Petticoat because I can't stomach the thought of ever being without it ... but I am holding strong so far.

Ive never bought a backup of anything except parrot e/s... but other then that I cant justify buying two of something when I know I wont even have time to use up the first one before mac either re promotes or comes out with something similar.

I made that resolution when I started MAC collecting, but broke it to back up feline. Then with RAVE pearlglide... I panicked.. it was pretty and I was sure it would sell out. That said I don't wear Rave too too often. Often enough however that I will definately use it up. It just seems to work with a lot of things I like. (I'm a blues and purples girl).

I'm back on the no backups train, again .. we'll see how long that lasts.

I don't do back up. i only bought 2 paint bare canvas last year because i was new with paint. in my opinion:
1. every cosmetic company always try to make better products every year, so i don't need a back up when i know i will always try & buy new products.
2. some cosmetic companies repromote their product/color (MAC for example). so why i bother for back up?
3. for the same price, instead back up, i can buy other product that i don't have yet.
4. i have to concern shelf-life of cosmetics. i don't buy stuff that i know i won't use it after period times. no need to back up until i finish it.
so yeah, we don't need back up especially with economic issue everywhere.

I'm glad I never got into the habit of buying backups. The only backup I have is of a lipglass that is d/c and it was a gift. I think getting a ton of backups is a waste of money and space.

The only backup I ever buy is Lingering eyebrow pencil, just for the simple fact you never know when it's going to end.

Well, other than Petticoat and So Ceylon, no more back-ups anymore.
I really won't use them up, well I'd use up Lollipop Loving too.

And the rest I'm selling off. I've learned my lesson, I just end up spending more and it just piles up.

I wish I had gotten a back-up of Queen's Sin though..

I was thinking about my stash, wondering if I ever bought a backup of something... The only thing that comes to mind right now is the Primer Potion, but it was because they don't sell it in Montreal, so when I went to New York I bought 1 backup of it.

I have never bought a backup and I doubt I ever will. I mean there are some LE items I love but with the rate MAC is going I know they'll come up with something equally amazing or even better before I finish my products.

That being said, I was *very* tempted to get a back up for Lollipop Lovin but fought the urge!

I have only 1 backup of Style Minx lipgloss because there's nothing like it in the perm. line and I've never seen mac release such a color...it's a true hot fuchsia pink with a slightly blue cast to it.

Personal preference.....If I like it I will buy it...But it is not with the intention of buying to sell later...But I have GIVEN away alot and sold for what I paid or less..so that benefits those who didn't get a chance to buy a LE .. so sometimes it's a win win for those who missed the boat...I think you have even gotten a few of my back-ups...see how that works out sometimes...

I have only ever bought a back up of Feline. I go through a few a year, so I bought 4 and have already opened one of them. Other than that I will buy something I know I'm going to need more of soon. For Christmas I had my hubby buy me another Bare Study p/p and a Strobe Beam TLC b/c mine are running low, so I just added it to my list. I wont buy back ups of lip glosses or lipsticks because I know I will never get through all of the ones I have, lol. Eyeshadows, foundation, blush, etc I buy as I need them. I hate to spend money for something to just sit and never be opened.
