I went to MACY*S hoping to at least buy one thing from DANSE, and I just couldn't do it, even LIGHSCAPADE I didn't get it, I'm so glad I get to skip this colletion and get something from the Raquel Welch ICON Collection instead.

LOVED Danse~

I went into MAC at Square One this a.m., and got two each of the MSFs (OMG They're incredible), and one each of the e/s. The MSFs are amazing....lightscapade is better than Pleasureflush, IMO, and should be used as a highlighter (everywhere, not just face), and Glissade is my new HG blush, me thinks!

Jete is gorgeous and has nice colour payoff. Probably the only eye shadow I'm getting from the collection. I picked up Glissade, but temporarily passed on Lightscapade. I already own several of the Meteorites from Guerlain, and wasn't convinced I needed this. It is much less sheen prone than Shimpagne was, so this has me considering picking it up tomorrow. Curtsy is very pretty also. The first MAC lippie I'm thinking of buying since Blonde on Blonde. It's a great, warm coral-peach lipstick.

The Corps de Couleur palette is also pretty, but probably better suited for fair skinned individuals - more cool tones than warm. The brown color, Terr a Terre, is the stand out color in the palette for me. Very pretty for a lustre. I don't know if it's so unique though that it's worth picking up the palette though.

I just saw it today and I posted in the Danse color story thread too.
If you see Rite of Spring e/s it looks JUST like PINK OPAL PIGMENT in PRESSED FORM! And the purple color in the Macy's exclusive quad looks just like MANCATCHER from Lure! I did not get any lipsticks or shadows.
I can't decide if I really need any. I got En Pointe lipglass, which is a beautiful pink. I might just save all my $ for the Icon and Barbie stuff.

Wow, i LOVE DANSE. It is all pretty soft colors that I will totally be wearing. I picked up a Glissade MSF and Aire-de-Blu pigment today and will be returning soon to pick up other colors that i have to add to my collection.

The two pigments are very different from what I expected, though- they go on very soft. I like it.

yay for danse!

I felt the same way i thought i was the only one hahaha

Since ive discovered the Smashbox Softlights i never ever use my msf's the glitter is 2 chunky and it makes me look oily and not glowey like i want. Softlights give me that glowyness without the chunky glitter . So i didnt really see the point in wasteing money on stuff just for the fact that its mac hmmm lol.

I know what you mean. Several of the colors were very reminiscent of other MAC colors. Corps-de-ballet look almost identical to Viva Glam V in the tube. Standing Ovation is similar to Sweetie cakes lipgloss. Pastorale is similar to Golders Green, but a shade or two lighter. That said, the colors are very pretty though and if you don't already have any of the items that they are similar to, it would be a great way to expand your MAC collection.

That was my first thought too.

I was bored by Danse. Even the MSFs, which I've never tried before, were really underwhelming.

Hrm, I didn't love Danse, but I can't say it bored me either... Corps-de-Ballet I find it prettier that VGV, a bit deeper in colour perhaps. En Pointe is pretty but I'm sure I can find something similar enough with all the pinks that have been released this year. It reminded me of a slightly lighter Heartfelt Pink. Standing Ovation looked similar to Budding lustreglass- not really close, but it reminded me of a lipglass form of it (i.e. more pigmented). The only other lipglass I want to get is Pas-de-Deux, but I'm holding off for now b/c I can't see myself using it tons. I can't justify getting something solely for prettiness! - at least, not yet. =P

The e/s I could possibly pass on - except for Rite of Spring! But I'll have to check it against Pink Opal, as was noted above... I think it shows more of the yellow base, however, than Pink Opal does, and less frosty. Enough for me to consider it as a lid colour instead of just a highlight. The MA tried it on my inner corner and I like the yellow base it has. It looked a bit chalky at first but better as the day wore on. I think the trick is to apply sheerly, & w/ UDPP (I find paints chalk up my shadows). (added) Rondelle's texture is like Courage from Untamed - kinda piecey? And French Grey... reminded me of other taupe's? I'll have to compare it to Flirty Number, the only taupe-y shadow I have. I can't see anything terribly unique about it. =T

The lipsticks were pretty, but I think I'll only get Danse, maybe Curtsy. Russe is pretty but reminded me of Bare Fetish in lipstick form. A bit finer, more shimmery than sparkly, but I'll only get it if it's still around in 2 months or so.

Pigments were pretty, but I'll probably just get samples. As for the msf's, I got one of each. =D Can't wait to use them! **Used them, Lightscapade as brow highlight - pretty! - and Glissade as blush over Peaches. I thought it was too glittery, but nobody noticed until I asked. Even my husband said it looked okay. So maybe the glitter isn't as chunky as others? I don't have Naked You so I can't compare, but I can say the glitter is more spread out than Shimpagne's.

**edit** Is the quad being sold anywhere in Canada, actually? I don't recall seeing it at all, but I was only there for 1/2 hr (before work). I'd like to see it before settling on the shadows...

So far my big rave is for the Lightscapade. I think it looks good all over. It fakes your skin right up to a beautiful glow. Not shimmery, but a glow. BUT, I have yet to see it on me in daylight, so tomorrow I may look like a disco ball! Glissade is pretty, but has some of those glitter chunks like New Vegas and Naked You, which I didn't care for (texture-wise).

My other rave is for the Standing Ovation LG. I was worried that it would be too similar to Wild Girl/Pink Poodle/Sweetie Cake/Deja Rose but it wasn't. It seems to have a slight duochrome to it like Palatial or Crystal Rose that makes you lips look really juicy.

I like the shadows.

I was kind of meh...underwhelmed by Corps de Ballet LG. It is so pretty in the tube and it isn't really a colour MAC has done before, but with my colouring it will need some tweaking to wow me. My biggest disappointment was Pas-de-Deux LG. I was hoping for more. I loved Glisterine and Blue Memory and was hoping for that same ethereal silvery finish, but not so much. It wasn't transparent enough for my liking when I work with silvery shades. I know it will work well with other products, but I hoped for more on its own.

I'm a total whore, I pretty much bought it all! And I picked up Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDP. It smells delicious. Speaking of guilty pleasures, I am off to watch my totally cheesey, guilty pleasure TV show: NCIS. Shhhh...Don't tell anyone I watch that,OK?

i was SO disappointed with danse!!! and i was totally excited to go check it out today because my sister got my a giftcard for christmas (although i shouldn't complain... i used it anyway!) i only bought the two MSF's, only because well i'm kind of crazy about MSF's and i just feel compelled to buy them regardless of how much i really like it. the only other thing i bought from this collection was french grey e/s. i felt like pretty much all of the other eyeshadows looked similar to old products (the irredescent color, i don't remember the name, reminded me of vex, and the silver one of silver ring). also, everything was just too light and pastel-y for me... too blah! hopefully the upcoming collections are better than this one!

imho the standout is pas de deux lipglass. it's SO beautiful! other than that the collection is okay.. it's not FABULOUS, but it's pretty and light....luckily i was able to score most of it for free *winks at someone special*
