Hello everyone!

I'm running out of my studio tech foundation and i was wondering if i should try a different foundation. I do like studio tech but i just want to know what else is there for my type of skin tone.

What do you lovelies reccomend?

thanks!!

I love mineral foundation (I use BE) I didn't like it at first, but I do now... it doesn't break me out (Like others do).

Have you tried mineral makeup? I have oily skin and wish I would have had this 10 years ago. Would have saved a ton of aggravation from cheap drugstore foundation and expensive dept. store foundations from breaking me out!

It took me a few tries to find shades that match my skintone from Mineral Makeup - Foundation, Eye Shadow, Concealer, Lip Colors, and Blushes by Everyday Minerals, but with the generous samples they offer, I was able to find the perfect match in 2 goes. In the winter when my skin is drier, I go with liquid minerals. The foundation from Copper Peptide Plus Exfoliation Works Better Than Anything Else For Age Reversal | Products, Here, Skin, Copper, Click | NCN Pro Skincare is very nice but coverage is kind of sheer. After applying the liquid MMU, I'll apply a light layer of EDM, finish off with silk powder and I'm shine and oil free all day long.

Sorry for the long post, I get too excited when I talk about makeup sometimes!

Ooh, I forgot to mention the liquid minerals on Mad Minerals website looks really yummy too!

It probably won't offer a great deal of coverage, but the ingredients are lovely and I don't see anything there that would clog pores or cause breakouts. Unfortunately I tried a couple of MAC foundations and while I finally found a shade to match, it just doesn't hold up as well as MMU. I looked shiny within a couple of hours.

I checked your profile and I think Everyday Minerals may have matches for you. The owner is pretty good at suggesting shades to match MAC foundation from what I hear. Or you might have to do like I do and mix up 3 different shades in varying proportions to come up with the right shade

I'm a medium/light slightly olive neither cool nor warm neutral skintone between MAC NW25 and NW30 to give you an idea.

hmm....
usually people go from liquid/cream foundation to mineral foundation but i sorta went the other way around. i used to love BE foundation but for my oily/combination skin....(extremely oily t-zone and dry u-zone) it really didn't do it for me. mineral foundation make my u-zone really flaky even with good base work on the skin before foundation application. right now i switch back and forth from hyper real and studio fix fluid depending on what mood i am in and what kind of coverage i'm looking for. i love hyper real b/c it's just a really fun foundation and it just makes me feel pretty when i wear it. i love the dewy/glowy look. it seems as though you have somewhat of the same skin type as i am but maybe your oily t-zone isn't as extreme. i found studio tech to be a bit on the heavier side, i am guessing it was okay for you? hmm, maybe it was my application..:p

I do like studio tech and i don't mind purchasing it again. I need something to cover my pores as i have huge pores on my nose and cheeks. I did try mineral make up before but it didn't work out for me. i used studio fix powder but it dried my skin out.

i normally use bare escentuals and i LOVE IT!!! my skin used to be horrible with slight acne and very oily and now its calmed down the oiliness and my acne has all gone
i really wanna try MAC studio fix fluid though
but the best liquid foundation ive ever tried is Estee Lauder - double wear [it looks sooo natural, stays on for ages and gives full coverage]

Glam8babe- Studio Fix Fluid gave me great coverage, but broke me out soooo bad... I don't think you should risk...

Or at least try it before you buy it?

Sephora, Bare Escentuals - Natural Cosmetics for the Body and Face, ebay...
It does provide good coverage, but you have to find your own way of applying it... they suggest to tap off excess, but I never do (because I actually need something on my face lol), and make sure to buff it in reeeeeeaaaaally good! I use their brush (that they sent me w/ starter kit) but it's really scratchy... then, (as a finishing touch) I spray some MAC charged water on 187 brush and go over my face (It gives me that flawless finish- or at least I think so hehe)
I ordered MAC 180, I think that will be THE brush

well the best place to get it is from Glow Girl: Online retailer of cosmetics, makeup, skin care, tanning, hair care its much cheaper than anywhere else and the delivery is fast.
- the coverage is AMAZING!!!!

when i first tried it i was actually gobsmacked.. it covered EVERYTHING my acne scars.. some blemishes and redness and my skin looked naturally airbrushed [but i did use my 182 and 187 brushes to apply it along with the mineral veil]
- i now get compliments on me skin which is weird for me coz ive never had nice skin well since i was about 13 when i started breaking out
- the foundation and mineral veil has lasted me since June and theres still half left so its really great value for money
and there isnt a bad thing i can say about it.. and when i wear liquid foundation [coz i dont wanna waste the BE one lol] i use the mineral veil over it and it still looks gorgeous and totally controls the shine

One thing you could try (instead of experimenting with foundations) would be this stuff called OCEight. It's a gel that absorbs oils. You apply to your oily areas before you apply foundation and/or dab onto shiny areas if needed during the day. I've got oily/combination skin too and received a small sample from work and liked it the little I was able to try it. Haven't gotten around to buying a tube of it yet though.

I might be a bit late, but I recommend Armani Matte Silk or La Prairie's Powder Foundation.
