i can totally leave the house without it, even if i have dark circles, zits, whatever. last year when i was still living in the dorms, i'd roll out of bed and go class, barely putting effort in to brush my teeth...i can't imagine putting the whole "show" on every day

what the hell was she doing to herself if it took her three hours? that's what i'd like to find out

I saw that show too...all I have to say is that most women, myself included, pray everynight that they could be as naturally pretty as she was without her makeup. I will definitely go out without makeup or my hair done, but I feel shitty when I do...I have blotchy red skin with bad undereye circles. Plus, I think putting makeup on is like my "fun activity" for the day, considering the rest of it includes laundry and diapers. But yeah, I would love to wakeup looking like that girl! I wouldn't do a damn thing to myself!

That's so sad. I think makeup should be fun and enhancing, not something you cannot go without. I hope the poor girl examines why wearing makeup is so critical.

With that said, I prefer wearing a little color. I usually do eyeliner, foundation to cover some spots, lipstick, a bit of eyeshadow, and powder as a primer for the eyeshadow. 5 min. max, unless I do something fancy. I would never cry about going without makeup. Sometimes, it doesn't thrill me (I like wearing color, and I think it does enhance my features), but it's only makeup. I've seen myself enough times without it to know that it isn't necessary.

Heavy Foundation, powder, highlighting/contouring, blush, dramatic eye makeup, fake eyelashes(she said she wears them everyday), lips. then she did really really big hair, and she had a lot of hair, and she curled it every morning, even though it's natural curly, she said it wasn't curly like she wanted, so she curled it with an iron. and getting dressed. that all takes her 3 hours.

i can get out of my house, dressed, hair done, with an almost complete makeup face, in less than an hour and a half, depending on where i'm going.

Okay...I could go without makeup, I'm not beastly looking without it, but I really don't like to. I'm pretty pale and like adding a little life to my face you know? My everyday routine for work (I'm there by 7am) is that I wake up at 615, I have a half hour to get all my stuff done, and then I'm out the door. Honestly, the only time you'd catch me without something on my face is when I wake up, go to bed, or get out of the shower (and even then I fallasleep in my makeup on occassion, so good luck there!) So, that means, tinted moisturizer, foundation on any problem spots (rarely) BE powder, ssome blush/MSF, always blacktrack f/l and mascara, always fill in the brows, and if im not feeling too lazy/have enough time ill get to the eyeshadow.

It doesnt take long, but if given more time, I will take every second

I feel bad for her, I mean I wouldnt cry, but I can understand the uncomforatable feeling of having a naked face. I hope she works things out

I always have to have at least a little makeup on, but I used to be like that (but would take 1.5 hours, including washing + drying hair). It's a psychological issue and I know how horrifying it feels to walk outside with a 'bare' face and feel like everyone is laughing at you or are disgusted by the ugliness of the face, etc. I've been getting over it but very slowly, e.g. making the time I spend on it all less, doing 'exercises' to show myself that people won't necessarily laugh etc.

Poor woman. I really feel for her.

I see a lot of women like this at work. I have not had anyone cry, but boy do they beat themselves up. I had one who wanted me to work on one side of her face at a time-b/c she did not want ANYONE to see her skin.

My mom and grandmother used to always say, "Put some lipstick/blush on" or "comb your hair". They came from a time where a woman did not leave the house without dressing up. I think it sank in because I will not leave the house without gloss/lipstick! I wonder if some of these women had other women in their family make comments like that when they were growing up.

I actually take a long time getting ready in the morning. I don't do the whole ritual the woman in question does, but I am such a zombie in the AM. I walk into walls and I am so out of it. I also HATE to feel rushed!
