People being closed minded about makeup

I've had some people comment on pictures I've posted on the Net (not on Specktra, but elsewhere) that I wear too much makeup and that I look better without "all that dark stuff around my eyes". It wasn't really insults but it just seems like an irrelevant comment to make. It's like someone wearing pigtails and saying, you look better wearing braids. It's a back-handed comment in a way.

But it doesn't bother me really because I actually don't wear much makeup on a day to day basis - like today I'm wearing only powder, a hint of blush, and lipgloss. So the pictures I have posted online were my more extreme full face makeup looks, which I only wear out to a club or something. And actually, when I do go to a club wearing lots of makeup, I get lots of compliments, even from guys, who are clueless about makeup!! Haha...

So I say, just wear what you like, and as long as it flatters you and looks good to you, who cares what other people think.

being a guy, i get comments all the time. but most of them are good ones! everyone can have their opinion, but if its going to hurt someones feelings keep it to yourself. plus the a**holes are usually haters.

I think at clubs, bold MU is pretty common. Or at least seen as normal. It's generally only when you take that look outside of the nightlife that people tend to be bitchy about it.

I think by now anyone who's worn bold MU on a day to day basis has heard something or other from someone. I've been told comments before by friends who were like behind me in line, and after I had left, the employees there have made comments about crazy MU or whatever. You can eigther wash it off, or run with it. I don't personally care, if I'm in the mood to rock some bold eyeshadow, a comment from a plane-jane isn't going to bring me down.

I personally believe that people who make comments, just don't have the self confidence to rock the same look.
