Oh, no! I'm not trying to buy another foundation myself. I was pretty sure i didn't have a match there because I've been hoarding Chanel for awhile and had already thought about looking into their foundations. I remember someone asked me about a comparison between the 2, though and that's why I looked. Man, that darkest VLA isn't even close to being a match.

Was that the darkest in that line or the darkest that the store carried? I recall someone saying that Chanel.com carries darker shades in VLA. Which one did you see
in-store? It appears the darkest VLA online is 70 Beige.

They had 50 as the darkest shade. I just googled for 70 b/c I didn't know it went that high. This lady here is using B70 and if that's her shade there's no way in hell it's working for me. http://hudabeauty.com/2013/10/16/the-best-natural-foundtion-i-have-ever-used/

My husband picked up a sample for me from Dillards the other day in #70. For reference I'm an nc45 with issue free skin.Upon application I noticed it quickly dried down to a powder finish.I looked like Casper the Friendly Ghost for a few minutes as it did it color adjustment work. After an hour I noticed that my chin was quite pasty yellow so I had to apply a light touch of matte bronzing powder to cancel it out.I didnt apply powder anywhere else and I went about my day. In various light sources I peeped out my skin and I just wasn't wowed by it. My skin just looked so flat and blah.At the end of the day my skin looked beat...and not in a good way. My skin just looked dehydrated and flat.Even my husband did a double take and asked if I was ok.....he thought I was ill.I'm 40 years old without a nil of wrinkling on my face but this foundation cancelled out my normally youthful face by the 8th hour of wear.I was pretty disappointed. I'm going to stick with my Giorgio Armani Masetro foundation. I'm glad this foundation is working for the majority of you. Just wasn't a hit for me.

OMG---that definitely wouldn't work for me either. It looks darker swatched on her arm than it did in the bottle but certainly doesn't
look that dark on her face. I'm afraid this one is not for us. Also, don't you think if there were a compatible shade Ingenue would have it?

I think we can stop entertaining this one for sure. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Yeah, she actually reviewed #50 and said it's a full shade too light. Seems before PL Chanel didn't acknowledge people with deeper skin tones. http://adventuresinmakeup.com/2011/02/25/review-chanel-vitalumiere-aqua/

I'm starting to think that to Chanel, PL actually means 'Post Light'----after we were so limited in our color offerings

Now I have two, soon to be three Chanel
foundations from which to choose.

So, in conclusion I love this stuff from my short trial. Definitely recommend it if you don't mind sheer coverage or you're willing to add concealer. Dry skin, don't be afraid. Like, I said before if you're darker than me (MUFE HD 173, Mac I don't have a true shade but I am closest to NC45 which is too dark for the center of my face), unfortunately, there's no color for you. I just wish that since this is replacing my Perfection Lumiere that it gave me the same coverage as that one.
what concealer do you use?

OMG I do not know even where to begin about this foundation. It is AMAZING !! I am stunned! It has the most wonderful texture I have ever felt. Literally like velvet. It dries instantly on skin, it has that powder finish but not "Dry powder" and I have to say I am surprised by how much coverage it gives. I was sure it will not cover anything but I actually achieved medium coverage that is very nicely build able to higher medium - I do not want to say full . I can;t stop touching my face that's how nice it feels! It feels like nothing on skin. And it did not accentuate any of my dry areas even though I did not moisturize before nor I put primer.
I have B20 and it's little too dark for me right now, it would be my summer color, so I would order B10

Sounds great! I was asking this in another thread but I realise there would be a thread on this foundation. So is it suitable for dry and normal skin? Do you set this with powder? I always set but lately I am looking for foundations where I can skip the powder setting step. HG - I have many foundations on my wishlist and I still have several on rotations now, Mufe, Burberry, Nars, Givenchy. I have been eyeing Koh Ken Doh Manifanshi because it is apparently good for dry skin, but it is pricey.Do you like your Koh ken doh? Which one are you using?

I have normal/dry skin and it's perfect. You know, just as long as you moisturize, you'll be fine and I don't set it either.
