Please help, foundation

I was looking to find what primer, moisturizer would look good under a matt foundation. Also, what primer, moisturizer would go good under a Dewey foundation. I’m fairly new to do make up and I cannot make my foundation look good at all.

What foundation(s) are you currently using? What's your skin type? What's your skincare routine?

General rule of thumb with primers and foundations is you want to use like with like. If you're using a water- and silicone-based foundation, you want a water- and silicone-based primer underneath. If the foundation is oil-based, the primer should be oil-based. If the foundation is silicone-free, the primer ought to be, too.

I wanted to write a separate post, but I will write here. My skin is dry, and if I choose the wrong cosmetics, it only gets worse. I have chosen both expensive and non-brands, but most often nothing works. I think the best ones are based on water, besides, you need the right combination of cosmetics.

Thank you for your reply! I use Maybelline + Korean cosmetics for daily skin routine. Maybe you know the brand Ollie.

What specific products are you using (skincare, primer, foundation)? And also what did you mean by "most often nothing works"? What exactly are you looking for?
