I had the same problem. What I do now is I start off with a sort of stiff straight or angled brush dipped in eyeshadow and line it up along by bottom lashline on the outer corner of my eye and softly sweep a line slightly upward toward my upper lashline which will then become the outline for my "wing." I find the wing looks best when it lines up with the outer corner of the bottom lashline. Then as you begin drawing your line on your upper lashline, start off thin from your inner corner of your eye, then gradually begin thickening the line at the inner edge of your iris continuing on toward the outer corner of your eye. You would then have it wing out following the outline you drew earlier with your eyeshadow brush. Remember that although your wing looks as if it's curved upwards when your eyes are open, the actual line should look straight when your eyes are closed. Sorry I couldn't provide graphics to aide you on how it should look. I hope my explanation somewhat made sense! HTH!!!

There are a few tutorials on how to wing eyeliner in the Tutorial section, do a search there.

I'm Asian and one trick I've tried recently is to use my 316 lip brush. I never use it for lips anyway, and if it works I'd rather spend my cash on product than another brush. So far, I feel like I have more control than if I used the 211 or 209, maybe because it's flat.

Anyhoo, I love how thin it is, the flatness, how it allows me to build up and doesn't cover too much area with each application so I don't end up with a blob anywhere (like w/ my 266) and have to clean it up and perchance ruin the rest of my makeup. I've drawn better wings (more precise & proportional to my eye) with this brush so far. =D Works great for lining lower lashline too!

Someone (Ashley?) did a tutorial for her wings before, which I found helpful. Found it! It's post #12. This fotd shows her wing better, tho, I think. And shows what missymaricel is talking about regarding how "although your wing looks as if it's curved upwards when your eyes are open, the actual line should look straight when your eyes are closed."

I'm asian but I don't have asian eyes (does that make sense?). Anywho...I find that lining my eyes as usual then blinking (at outer corner) will create a wing. Then you just go over this until you get a nice clean wing.

Hope that helps a bit :].

i don't have asian eyes, but i find that when i do my top lids, i hold my head straight ahead looking into the mirror and use my left hand to pull the very corner of my eyelid straight across and a little up. this creates a nice smooth surface for me to use. then i lightly apply the e/l starting from the outter corner to the inner corner. then i go back in and each time get a little bit darker/thicker until i'm satisfied. hth!

I'm asian and I have intensely small eyes too, so maybe I can help?

I would've taken some better/close up photos, but my camera is currently out of commission... so I tried to crop some old photos to give you a sense of how I would do the liner.
Also, I know I tend to be quite heavy-handed with the liner, but I like the way it looks.

the closest thing I could find for a closed eye... (by that I mean I blinked from the flash! that's why my right eye looks wonky)

I used revlon colorstay liner - just a regular eyeliner pencil. I find that stuff's easier to get a perfect line. I don't have any fluidliners, but that works even better.

and then here's a close-up of my eye. this one was done with l'oreal liquid eyeliner. I'm a little more shaky with the liquid stuff, but this might give you a better idea of how I line my eyes with a wing.

I hope that helped!!

also: I was browsing the tutorials, and found this awesome tutorial by an asian girl showing how to make a wing with fluidline
http://specktra.net/showthread.php?t=67130

it's pretty much the method I would recommend, but I personally start my wing further down & along i.e. closer to the point at which the ends of the lower & upper lids meet. Also, I like to line a thin line, and just keep on thickening the line until I see the color when I open my eyes.

i'm also asian and i find it hard to achieve different looks for my eyes. snowkei has some great tutorials on how to achieve certain looks, but there are plenty of other users that have great tutorials as well. however, i'd have to say that she's very thorough, i would suggest going to her profile (link below) and search through the different threads. she not only has two for achieving the simple liner look i think you're looking for, but she also has other great step-by-step tutorials and face of the day looks, my favorite being the simple look (link also below). check her out!

here's her profile. scroll towards the bottom and click on "find all threads started by snowkei", it'll send you to a page with threads started by snowkei, including great tutorials!
