haha it's good that you guys have that kind of understanding. i would be really sad if my spouse tried to tell me not to buy makeup anymore and got angry about it. hehehe.

Since your friend got the ticket in Cali, she will still have to pay for the ticket and if she decides to contest it and wins, she will get her money back.

Next time, I suggest that if you're ever in that situation again, duck down or cover your face which will make it hard for them to determine who was driving when they look at the picture. My brother ran a red light driving my car and a pic was taken but since it was him that was driving, I never got a ticket.

haha it's so hard to think about ducking ur face down when ur caught in a situation like that! it's like a split second, literally!

so you're saying my friend will have to pay the fee up front if she gets the ticket?? r u sure?

let's just hope she doesn't get the ticket at all!

Well my best friend got a ticket for either running a stop sign or a red light recently and she contested it and they made her pay the fine first and then go to court. She eventually won and got her money back. But with the picture thingy, it could go either way. She was pulled over by the police so maybe that changes things. LOL

Yeah that camera is a trip! It literally snaps like 3 or 4 pics within seconds!! When my brother ran that red light in my car, I was in the passenger seat and was like WTF was that!!

In a small town in TX where my bf got his ticket, if he lost his trial by jury (which he asked for) he had to pay part of the fees they pay the jurors for coming in and the court fees. To answer your question if the fee goes up... it probably depends on state and county more specifically. This was a small county that didn't have the resources for trials.

i live in norcal & my bf is notorious for contesting tickets and getting them dismissed. haha he bought this book and it's worked for him. so much that his friends always ask to borrow it:

Amazon.com: Fight Your Ticket & Win in California (9781413310306): David Brown Attorney: Books

with a little research on your friends part, she might be able to contest it. i think when it worked for my bf (i was w/ him at one of his court dates), part of what made him win it i think was the judge's impression of him because he actually went up there with confidence and stated his case (he even took the book with him!) and the judge must have thought "wow, someone actually did their research!" haha looking back now, it's funny but you never know, it might work for your friend too!

edit: since you said this was her first offense, your friend should be able to go to traffic school & just get it dismissed. that's probably easier. i'd recommend the book if it happens again and if she isn't eligible for traffic school.
