Another point to remember - for some people, makeup is very much about fashion and trends, so someone might want the latest hot color to wear for a season or two as a major style statement. If the next year that color is out of the spotlight, does it really matter too much if the tube gets shoved in the back of a drawer? It's waaaaaay cheaper to wear simple clothes but have the latest in makeup textures and colors, than to buy lots of new outfits every season, that's for sure!

If you're the sort of person that mostly wears makeup to enhance your looks subtly, rather than for a fashion statement, yeah, you may not feel the need for multiples of the same nude or pink color, so 50+ lipsticks could sound impossible.

A lot of us BU buyers do that in case they lose the first lipstick and also there have been people in the past (ones that have over 50 lipsticks) that posted pics of used lipsticks and in those pics you could definitely see how much the lipstick was used. If I choose to buy multiples that's my choice and if you prefer differently I won't complain either. If I find out I don't use the lipstick often enough to want a BU anymore I'll just put it in the clearance bin for retail (which it seems like it's more, but in the Netherlands the prices are higher). I've also done cp's in the past for Heroine during the Reel Sexy release. It didn't sell fast that time in the Netherlands and I was able to help a lot of people out. I didn't get my 2nd BU of Heroine until the re-release this year, so it's not like I'm trying to buy everything so others don't get a chance.

Thank you for saying this. I couldn't agree with you more! It's all about makeup love with no limits. If 1 makes you happy or 4 float your boat it's your choice! Nobody's business but yours.

i have too my sister so i can know when something gets missing and what, i have a little black book named and numbered list of what i have and what i want, immediately i get it anything new it goes into that book. loll too have 3 rrw,rrb,heaux,nude,ttt, heroine backups and proud

It would be cool if I was organized enough to keep a log of my makeup. I keep it all in my head. Lucky me I have a good memory (when I choose to). Really wish I had a Nude backup. It's the only thing that's missing for me.

I love the storage items I have bought, because I can actually see it and it not sit at the bottom of a train case or a make up bag. I have actually had things taken. That won't happen now. I want a muji drawer, but the large is not currently available.

i started put with a 24 lipstick holder then it turned into 2 (24) lipstick holders, next it turned to a 60 lipstick holder, moved on to a 120 custom lipstick holder almost used up,so changed it. now at a 210 custom lipstick holder all went crazy since i joined specktra

Girl, you make me feel so much better about my stash. I didn't realize how many lipsticks I had until I depotted all of them. I'm at 205.

omg ok i am no way near that, still at a measly early 100ish i changed to a bigger lipstick holder because i was going to use up the 120 holder so instead of buying a second 120 holder i went for a 210 holder. i need to stop before 200. but lucky you all those empty containers i'm envious can imagine you at the store trying to back to mac

I ended up selling the empty containers. I wanted to Back to Mac so bad, but I had to draw the line somewhere. I'm not buying any more lippies except the Punk Couture ones (or anything LE that's really good). I'm not sure how long my lippie no/low-buy will last, but I have way too many right now to even think about buying more.

this was the extra large shoe box with the divider which divides it into 6 and with the white compartment that 20 regular round size lipstick





was almost done with the extra large shoes size, so went yesterday to get another one but saw the shirt size which is the same depth with divider just bigger, so its divided into 6 and each holds 35 lipstick per section





it opens like a drawer and can only open at one end


great thing is you can see them for both sides so if you want them upside down or upright you can still see it. still setting other sections.

When storing your lipsticks in the holder can you store them with the tops off or is it better to keep the top on.

I'll admit sometimes if I enter a thread for a collection that I missed out on or didn't get everything that I wanted, I roll my eyes when I see "I got such and such plus backups" Then it's like, "really?" I didn't even get ONE and you got FIVE! BUT at the same time, I feel you all about it being fair game! Even with the RiRi fiasco, those of you who got backups worked damn hard to get them and its YOUR money. I know I backed up what I could. I guess people here get a little sensitive when it comes to the exclusivity of MAC's LE collections. And MAC it truly the blame here. If MAC LE collections were as easy to get as NARS I don't think the backup thing would be such an issue let alone topic here.
