So sorry to hear this! I hope that you're doing OK and that any repairs aren't too costly... As a fur-mom myself (of cats), I can totally sympathize. I can't handle having them at the hospital, away from me. I know that they're in good hands, but I never feel right until they're back home. Glad to know your girl came through fine and I'm sure she'll be just as happy as you to be home tomorrow!
Thanks Kate! We're in for a long road! 8 weeks of rehab, very limited walking and no use of her leg at all! And for a lab that's gonna be a BIG change! I've already doggy-proofed the house. I'm gonna camp out downstairs so she's not tempted to try and go upstairs to bed in the middle of the night. I've got her bed set up downstairs as well, and I'm gonna set up Lily's bed next to hers as well, since they sleep side by side. Hopefully that will make her more comfortable and help with the healing process. I went shopping for lots of fruits and veggies today too. We've gotta get a few more pounds off her to help prevent her from injuring the other leg and needing surgery on that leg in the future, especially since she won't be mobile for the next 8 weeks. So i stocked up on apples, carrots, bananas, sweet potatoes, blueberries, cucumbers, green beans, broccoli, and yogurt! She's gonna be livin it up! I think the hardest part is not gonna be laughing at her wearing a cone for the next 2 weeks! Poor girl is gonna have a complex!
