Is it true you shouldn't match your eyeshadow color with your clothes???

I have the proclivity to match mine. But it's always subtle and complimentary. If you want to, just do it. F--- the rules.

Well. depends.
but personally, I dont like to match much. I mean yeah I would choose eyeshadow based on my outfit but not necessary match. I wont wear a green eyeshadow because im wearing a green outfit. What I would do is: wear pink eyeshadow with the green outfit. Got my point?

personally i think it doesnt matter if u choose to wear e/s that matches ur clothes are not....... i think that if u match ur e/s colors to the colors of ur clothes everything tends to blend to much...... i like my makeup to stand out sooo i never match.. of course u want to use colors that compliment the colors that u are wearing.. but u dont have to match ur e/s

OT a bit...i am wearing this orange flowery dress for chinese new year...then what color eye make up should i wear? No orange e/s??? cause i was thinking of a orangy combi like goldmine, juiced and rule with shade fluidline and minted eye kohl. Will it be too orangy?

what about gold and orange e/s? or orange and green e/s?? advice pls?

so is it always a disaster if we match our e/s to our clothes? i don't want to end up lookin weird if i wear too much orange e/s with my orange floral dress during chinese new year. Thank u!

I think in moderation, it could look great. I wouldn't do a bright orange, but there's plenty of combos you can incorporate with this look to compliment it.

Like the gold you suggested. You could combo something like goldmine and juiced and rule, but make the orange subtle. Don't go overboard.

If there's other colors in the dress, you could incorporate some of those.

Or you could play it safe and do a neutral eye with some peachy/orangy blush and a corally lip.

I'd really have to see the dress.
Is it along the lines of tropical sun dress or floral spring dress?

well, i guess it depends on your preferences, but i think matching eyeshadow to clothes looks a little tacky. :x i like coordinating, meaning i don't match, but i pick colors that will look nice with my clothes even though they're not the SAME colors.

What she just said.

I would also stress the neutral.

I don't try to match anything. I don't really believe in too many rules with eyeshadow but I like mine a little bit on the wild side and when i don't, I have those too. It all depends on my mood, etc. Now with lipcolor, we are talking an entirely different story.

This gets me soooo fustrated. Because there are days where I really want to wear a certain outfit, but I also want to do a certain makeup look that would totally clash with the outfit... so I don't care, I just do what I want :p

I do whatever I want. Mostly, I match though. I'm sure that it's tacky to most to wear aquadisiac if I'm wearing an aqua top, but I don't care.

That's what I like about make-up; there are really no rules!

I match color tone. warm with warm, cool with cool--
*orange dress w/brown, coral, or green eyes
*pink shirt with blue, purple eyes...
*Black with EVERYTHING

but that's just me... there are really no rule

If I do match, it's not a conscious effort on my part. I tend to ignore most of the "rules" people in the beauty world pull out of their butts.

I usually match my makeup to my accessories or some small detail on my clothing. I try not to match it to my shirt, but sometimes I do.

Alot of times I do whatever eyes I want, then build my outfit around the colors. I don't usually like to match, instead, I wear colors to compliment my eyes. Sometimes when people match e/s to their colthes, it can be a bit much, imo.

I don't match makeup to my clothes, I match it to the overall look I'm going for. Although I wouldn't choose colours that clash with my clothes either.

I don't match...as long as the colors go with the overall look, it's all good.

When I do makeup on other people, I don't match either...I just think it looks too...contrived....that's just me.
