Skipping class!!

Honestly, I feel like with science classes I learn more by myself, just reading the textbook. I just can't stay awake during most of my classes because professors read from the textbook, I feel like I'm wasting my time. I don't think it's a problem if you study in your own time. When I took neuroscience I only showed up for the reviews and test, I think at one point I didn't come in for a month straight, and still ended up with an A. It's all good as long as your professor doesn't care about attendance.

I'm such a bad influence. Oops.

I actually never bring my laptop to class, because I don't see the point in going if I'm just going to be on here or Facebook. I really hate it when I can see the people in front of me having conversations on MSN or watching videos on YouTube because it's so distracting! I find that I prefer labs to lectures because at least I'm doing something, rather than trying not to zone out. Ironic that I'm not in science anymore. Blargh. I'm studying for a pysch midterm on Thursday right now... And I'm bored.

I used to skip classes all the time- my school had no attendance policy. I used to skip class, read the material and show up for tests and to hand in papers. I loved it.

Then they put in a requirement for attendance this semester. I understand their point, but I think I learned so much more when I showed up for important dates than I do by showing up every class. Occasional class attendance made me think for myself and really absorb the material; going to lectures all the time just makes me want to regurgitate discussions.

Though surprisingly, I've not missed a day of work in three years. Go figure.
