Smokey Eye For the Daytime..

For a daytime smokey eye, I love doing a soft mossey green look... ie. Juxt on the lids, with Velvet Moss softly blended in outer V/creases, and eyes lined with Forever Green powerpoint liner.

I would pick other shades than black for the smokey part. I love Moth Brown and Clue e/s for that, and Gunmetal by Bobbi Brown. For the white I would substitute a cream coloured eyeshadow, or something going into the pastel pink fleshtone.

Go over the satin taupe when ur done just so it shows up ..sometimes it fades with all the blending and thats it. Its a daytime smokey look.

Eeww, sounds pretty! I'm trying this tomorrow.

If you are trying to "soften" your black/white smokey eye, try using greys, browns, taupes or purples. I love using Gold Stroke pig, Sweet Sienna pig, Mulch e/s and Moth Brown e/s as the crease or outer V shade. Using black e/s (Carbon, Black Tied, whatever...) is going to give you more of a bold, "night time" look than a softer color. I'm really loving using Remotely Grey from the N Collection right now.

And if you are just trying to add color to a smokey eye, I tend to just add that color to the crease. For example, my standard smokey eye is a thick line of kohl power liner (usually Feline) along my upper lashline, then smudged upward to the crease. Then I pat a dark brown shadow (my fave is Rare Specimen, but that's LE) over the smudged liner, almost up to the crease. Then I add black shadow (usually Carbon) or a dark grey shadow (Knight Divine) to the crease. Then right above the crease and in the crease, I deposit & blend a colored shadow (my favorite is Humid or Nocturnelle). Blend you little heart out & highlight your browbone. This is kind of the opposite of what MACATTAK said & probably not a "daytime" eye, but you said you like dramatic eyes, so give this is a shot if you want
