SO Depressed about Lipsticks!

Man i wish that was the truth- im crazy obsessed with my Vegas Volt lipstick but ive never even worn it out of the house because it makes me look like a clown. Even my mom looked at me and went "no way is that MAC.. you look horrible..." *sigh*

Aww, I suffer with the same problem.
One think I'd reccomend that you try is DuWop Prime venom, it's a lip primer with plumping properties. Then, I apply the red or whatever lips (usually red if anything), being sure to use a lipliner 1/2 on and 1/2 off of the lips (does that make sense? Like the center of the point is right on the outline of my lips) so that they don't look drawn on, and top it with a sparkly red gloss in the middle of my lips.
I feel youir pain though. I have mostly plumping glosses instead of regular glosses.
By the way, I don't think this is what you're looking for, but my favorite lip plump of all time is "sexy mother pucker" (yes I did buy it based on the name lol) which is by Boots and Glory at Target.

Another pale, scared of wearing really dark lip colours here. I'm so pale, but I find really dark vampy shades just completely wash me out and make me look like the great undead or a big goth or something

I wish I could pull off the darker lips......but meh, mind you I have been experimenting with reds
I started off with MAC urgent slimshine......I still just apply it quite lightly, I'm getting used to it now. But no way would I pick out any really dark shades, I look like a zombie!!
Maybe we should just give in and wear them anyways?

Ok, so because I'm not so sure about me and darker colors yet, I didn't want to spend so much on a MAC shade while i'm experimenting.. so I got this Neutrogena drugstore sheer lipstick called "Ruby Bliss" and it's a nice shade! I don't remember the exact type because they had several, but it's in a slim silver tube. Very pale & cool-toned friendly (i'm NW15 for ref.) I'll try to post a swatch pic later today.
