But the Beauty Boutiques at the SDM are nice - nowhere near the quality/status of Walgreen's. No offense to anyone - just saying... :p

MAC @ Walgreens

I've seen this posted at MUA before, too - people are ADAMANT that Walgreens either does or is going to stock MAC. Someone even said a sales clerk showed her a paper that said it? They can claim it all they want but until they take a picture of the display at their Walgreens...

I've bought salon stuff at target before.. My beloved Biosilk Silk Therapy shampoo and conditioner.. and they smelled like VINEGAR. I promptly marched my ass back to Target and returned them. So the old/expired/rancid hair product comment was right on.

Besides, Target charges more for Tigi and Biosilk than my actual salon does!

I had one of those too realistic dreams that it was sold there, and it was only 2.50 for like, everything. I flipped out in the morning, then remembered that you can not pay 14 dollars for an eyeshadow at a drugstore. Kind of was upset though

i got really excited

i've only been to one walgreens when i visited the states (my sister thought i was nuts for looking up the addresses of and visiting several different drugstores LOL), but it was decent, and there are several SDMs and pharma plus stores that don't have beauty boutiques and still sell lancome and elizabeth arden.

i guess i just don't see it as an issue.

i do agree that the beauty boutiques are nicely done. sometimes they even have snooty MAs just like department stores do, LOL

Heh. I remember hearing this vicious rumor floating around on MUA also. I doubt I'll live to see that day MAC is sold at Walgreens.

Sorry this is swaying a bit off topic, but there used to be a Canadian show called Street Cents, and they investigated these drugstore-sold salon shampoos. Most of them were either completely fakes, or were diluted versions of the originals. Many had significant bacterial contamination, too. So I'd stick to buying from the salon in Canada, at least you know what you're getting.

I love street cents.....they always get the real deal on sketchy stuff like this. Good to know about the salon shampoo at the drug store. Pretty gross!

Also my hubby was on that show when he was in high school ~lol~
