You can also get your vaginal lips surgically shortened.

if one of my inners is a good bit bigger than the other (and almost bigger than the outer) is that gross? a turn-off? or not a problem?

and okay another question while i'm at it...

in pictures and diagrams you always see the clit is a good bit above the urethra, but on me they're right up against each other, kind of on top of each other. is that weird or a problem? i've always been worried im really anatomically wrong down there :/

This is very very common. Not a problem I would say

I'm guessing that Kegals are pelvic floor exercises? I always do 10 of them several times a day. Also doing this means better orgasms ladies.

They only give you C-Sections if you need an emergency birth these days don't they? Or at least that's how it works in the UK. You only get a C-section if it's safer for you and baby. Beyond that it's pushing it out all the way lol.

Nope nothing wrong with that at all. Everyones lady garden is different. For example, mine is more set back and higher up that most, So whoever I go shopping for a new pair of jeans, the crotch is always lower on me than the average woman haha. But I loves my lady garden because it's unique. I think it's got a nice shape to it. But it's different from all the ones I've ever got up close and personal with. But they're all different. Anyways I'll stop rambling now haha.

This is perfectly normal, but if it's a bother for you, or something you're self conscious about, there's no reason not to have it looked at by a surgeon, if you're sure that's what you want.
I won't say it's a turn off, because most of the time guys are so happy they've found and been allowed access to the playground, they're not upset about things like this.

If you're worried, see your doctor. But, generally speaking, everyone's ladybits are different. Some women have large clits and small hoods, some women have large long hoods, some women have a little man in a boat. Everyone's candy is different. That said, if you're bothered by your anatomy down there, do see a Gynecologist, as they're trained to spot anything 'wrong' and can reassure you personally of the normality of the situation.

No, you can elect to have a c-section here in the states.

No worries.

Most of the stuff we're self conscious about (i.e. big areola, long nipples, protruding labia, etc.) is perfectly normal.

Your TOTALLY normal

Your vajayjay is a unique and individual snowflake. There is absoluteley nothing wrong with how you look down there. Believe me, when ever you do decide to get sexually active, there is not a man alive on this planet who's going to think your anything but beautiful down there. We come in all shapes and sizes, and guys love them all.

Yeh it's really sad that these topics are so "taboo" for so many people still around the world. It's 2007... And parents are still fighting to keep their kids out of sex educations classes, or their totally sheltered and grow up wondering if they are, "normal."

Kinda funny, but along the same topic, my Boyfriend who's 22, JUST found out that he's circumsized a few months ago. He had always assumed that he was, but never knew for sure. Since like as he said, "he never really cared to look up information on penis" LOL. Anyways we were watching a movie, and in the movie the kid who's like 11, gets circumsized, and it made me giggle because for a few scenes in the movie he was holding his boy bitz through his pants, and his sisters were making fun of him. And so I asked my boyfriend if he was circumsized (we haven't had sex yet), since I'm not a fan of turtle neck penis lol. And he had no idea what a penis that was circumsized looked like, or if he was.

But yeh... Not knowing what's, "normal" is pretty common, since your privates are just not something people ever talk about. I think it's worse for girls though, since were all taught that were like dirty and gross down there etc. One of my friends back when I lived in Santa Barbara, would refuse to have sex out from under the covers, or let guys go down on her, because she hated herself down there. Chances are she was totally notmal. Really sad =\

I wish the world was that perfect, but it's not. Some men are very disrespectful towards how a woman looks down there. A vagina can be criticized: My older brother's friend told us he actually refused to sleep with a woman because he thought her vajayjay looked like a "Big Mac" (his words not mine), upon seeing her naked.
It just goes to show you how porn can influence the way men perceive us.

I was going to point that out, Greekchick, but hadn't wrapped my mind around it yet. :/
Between the perfect boobies in playboy, and the airbrushed tummies and lifted tushes and smoothed over triceps, it's not surprising that the examples young women have in relation to what's 'normal' is anything but normal.

Depends. On anything from your doctor to your hospital to your insurance plan. I've had three c-sections. Number one was basically forced on me. And then number two and three came because many hospitals in the US have prohibited VBACs due to liability issues. Some doctors will perform elective c-sections and some won't since it is major abdominal surgery. Some will perform them because they get a higher reimbursement from insurance companies. Others won't perform them unless the situation is emergent. Some prefer to schedule births and will push for inductions and sections even when they shouldn't.

C-sections come with their own risks. I just found out that I have extensive Adhesive Disease because of my c-sections. It is something that will probably prevent me from having another child

I have to stop typing now because I have MAJOR rants with the way childbirth is treated here in the US.

That and screaming during sex. Silence can be golden.

The only thing I hear about staying tight is doing Kegals. Now I have to wonder if I'm doing them right. With my first sexual partner, he was entering me, and I squeezed my muscles and he went crazy. Okay so that was two years ago.
I've only had 3 sex partners ever, and everytime I try to squeeze them on my boyfriend, he never notices. He has no complaints with sex or how tight I am down there, and I'm sure I'm still pretty tight. But I want to be able to squeeze them on him, for mine and his benefit. His "manhood" is pretty big, but so was my firsts'. I know how to locate these muscles and exercise them, but I feel like I'm not really working them out like I should. Does anyone have any advice?
Sorry, I kinda hijacked this topic for my own use. But everyone else was doing it.

You are correct! While the look of the vagina will change, especially if you had to have an episiotomy (where they cut the perineum to prevent tears), the internal aspect of it will return to normal after roughly six months. I'm a year post-partum and as far as I can tell, all is well. ALSO!, the biggest change that comes with vaginal birth is that sex is a million times better. I'm not so sure of the science, but I have read it repeatedly that it makes you more sensitive. The sex I've had after having my daughter has been so much better that I don't know how I ever enjoyed it before. So, I believe it. There are other plusses to having a vaginal birth than just the experience.

As for me, I can't tell if kegels are effective. I know I'm doing them right and have done them for years.. but, I just don't know if it makes any sort of real difference. I can't notice. My boyfriend might, but I can't tell. Ben Wa balls can be used to help with pelvic floor exercises. They've been used for centuries by other cultures for that very reason.

They say the way to tell if you're doing them right is to try to stop yourself when you go pee. The same way you do that is how you do kegels. You should be feeling it inside the vagina, not in the bottom.

One last thing, am I the only person that cringes at the word vagina? Ugh. It's awful sounding.
