Ive just come across this on ebay, it is a genuine MAC becuase ive purchased one from a different seller before. the pan part opens up to reveal a sponge tip brush. I just wondered if anyone knew why they were like this and if it was a pilot seller previously?

any clues?

the eyeshadows themselves have no colours on the box and pot- just numbers like 9 or 13. which makes me thnk their samples or something something

I've never seen a MAC product that looks like that. I know a lot of very good counterfeit products are available, especially in Asia, and my best bet is that's one of them.

I've never known MAC to put numbers instead of colours on their items, even the samples. Plus the packaging is like nothing I've ever seen from MAC, and the font on the box looks wrong. Sorry, but I'm pretty sure that's a fake.

Freaky. I think i got a fake once. It was melton mauve and it smelled very perfume-y and wouldn't go on, not even on a brush. . . it was kinda oily though..

About the numerical eye shadows. . I've seen these on Ebay, most of them come from the U.K. I saw a nice blue color, but I couldn't figure out which color it was. It was numbered something like A24. Hmmmm.

all my MAC e/s pans are numbered like A54 for Cranberry. but the mirrored container looks fishy. now I'm tempted to bid just to find out how it looks in real life LOL

This number (A54, A24) has nothing to do with the name or colour! IIRC it's like a production code! The letter stands for the production circle (A=first circle of the year, B=second circle etc.), the first number stands for the month (1=January, 2=February, etc.) and the second numer stands for the year (4=2004, 5=2005, etc.)

To me, this one looks fake! Even the writing on the box looks not that MAC-ish!

If you look carefully you can see the weights are different on the front packaging and the fonts are different.

I think the "secret compartment" just looks like they popped the insert out and figured they could put a brush underneath and attach a mirror or something. I think the packaging looks the exact same, the weights are the same, I have a box right in front of me.

There are several other brands that have counterfeit makeup on eBay, and this is obviously no exception. FAKE FAKE FAKE

Not to mention Goldmine is a "Frost Finish" not a lustre.... I don't know if you caught that.
Any one that decribes a color as "most likely" has to be fake - at least get the finish right..lol

MAC LUSTRE EYESHADOW BNIB
Shade 13 – (most likely the shade is GOLDMINE – intense gold with shimmer) refer to picture below.
