From Breitbart.com article: Known by its military designation US 193, the satellite was launched in December 2006. It lost power and its central computer failed almost immediately afterward, leaving it uncontrollable. It carried a sophisticated and secret imaging sensor.

Those in the intelligence field are quite likely to tell you that it doesn't work regardless of whether it does or doesn't. Just a thought.

Yes satellites do pose possible danger, but until we all decide to:

1. Stop using cell phones
2. Stop watching TV
3. Stop spying on each other
4. Stop fighting with each other

they are necessary.

If they are shooting it down to keep sensitive info from getting out, as opposed to just concern over possible damage from debris and fuel, more power to them.

Has to do with the "zero sum game" for any of you who are fluent in political science.

I think we're sending a message that anything you can do we can do better. But, since I don't sit in the oval office which is a crying shame, I really don't 'know'.
