So this weekend I'm heading to the Philippines for a vaca! Right now it's extremely hot AND humid (my worst enemy). What are your recs for traveling with makeup, what to bring/what not to bring. Will all my gel based products melt

? Also what are your experiences with what types of makeup to wear in a humid place, I'm thinking mineral and powders only.
Thanks!!

bring gloss instead of lipstick, so it doesnt melt! maybe 1 or 2 e/s that "go" w/evrything minimize loss/damage....and your blot powder/ lightest foundation
have fun!

I would recommend bringing blotting papers and lighter versions of your standard makeup: tinted moisturizers, lipgloss, etc. It depends on your skin type and how bad you sweat--I just know I sweat buckets in humid climates and it's tough for me to wear a ton of makeup without looking cakey or risking it melting off.

I live in a very humid place (the Caribbean) and I just use everything. Erm one this is though that you're gonna sweat everything's gonna fall off.. not cool. I don't suggest liquid foundation at all. I haven't used mineral make up.. but i doubt that'd last very long either. MAC studio fix powder should be fine if you have it. Don't use eyeshadow if you don't have UDPP and i say only UDPP because more emolient things like paint pots will just fall off.
I absolutely do not suggest lipgloss unless you're fine with having oily looking skin with oily looking lips.
LIP BALM or tinted lip balms are your best bet.
Don't over-do the make up is also my suggestion.
I also suggest checking this out: http://specktra.net/f280/pack-your-m...utorial-38199/

Good luck and haaave fun!

I wouldn't wear any foundation, cover-up. powder, etc. at all. (You might be different) I would take a couple E/S that go with everything and lip gloss. I wouldn't take a lot though incase they can't take the humidity.

Have Fun!!

yep, mineral powder foundation is a must, liquid just melts right off
blotting paper, UDPP & translucent powders as mentioned.
Gel based products like fluid line wont melt, I actually find them easier to apply in hot climates.

If your going to be in Manilla bring a good skin cleanser or mac wipes to freshen up with as the city is so smoggy, I remember being out and about in Makati and my face feeling so grimy at the end of the day.

hi there! i stay in singapore (hot and humid!!!)

well i use liquid foundation, and i do think that powder is important!
2nd on blot papers, you can also bring mist sprays like (fix+) or just water in a spray bottle, i dont think it matters! i think it'd be better not to bring cream products (for eg, blushcreme, ccb).

though these items dont 'melt' here, but it could get melted in the transit for you. l/s too.. i think dont bring stuff that's too expensive, in case it gets lost or anything, at least your heart wont hurt that much.

enjoy your holiday!

Mineral foundation! The liquid foundation type is just horrible for me whenever I am in Vietnam. But mineral foundation would work fine!

Put some of those silica gel packets (that absorb moisture) in your makeup bag to keep the makeup dry.

Awesome! I'm making a trip over to the Philippines too! Does anybody know if the NARS multiples would be a good thing to take? I usually just stick to a tinted moisturizer, lipgloss/lip balm and waterproof mascara. I just don't want to pack too much makeup, especially since most of it will probably melt off anyway. The last time I was there, we arrived at the airport around midnight and it was still 90 degrees! No cooling down over there!

You need some Model in a Bottle, STAT!!

I recently went to East Texas (pretty damn humid) and was outside for a good portion of the morning (super humid) while it drizzled. I didn't touch my make-up all day except to reapply lipstick.
