Ok.. So I finally started to try foundations in the search for a great one for me. I posted my haul yesterday.. I bought the Studio Fix and the MSF natural.. I was excited..

Today I used the foundation and the MSF and when I took my make up off tonight I saw that I broke out really bad. Lots of red spots.. I've been almost Acne free for months so I am upset and now I do not know if the cause is the foundation or becasue I got the make up done at the counter. I really did not see, (I should have)if the brush was clean when she used it on me.. I did saw that she took the MSF and like kind of cleaned it with a tissue and applied it on me..

2 days is like way to soon for like break out.. I dunno

I think bMUA's should have make up aside just for them to apply on the clients when they wanna try stuff.. They use the same products people play with and you do not know what those hands been doing... so I am dissapointed and I will be returning the foundation just in case..

I even e mailed MAC just becasue I am so angry.. I've been treating my face for months and it was getting to the point I wanted it.

I'll probably go to Clinique and try their new foundation "Even better", at least with them I do not break out... I've been using Clinique for a while

This is sad... my face was doing soo good

Sorry to hear about your break out! Sounds so frustrating, especially since you had been working hard to keep your skin clear! I know MAC stresses the importance of good sanitation to their employees, it's something they don't usually mess around with. I hope it was sanitized. Is it maybe the foundation? Because MAC foundations are not strangers to breaking people out

I would almost guess that was what it was. But I do agree that the testers at MAC are scary sometimes! They get gross looking really fast. I think if you are dealing with a nice MA they might open a new product if you are very uncomfortable with it. Well, good luck and don't stress out too much about your breakout!

I would think it is more the foundation than the brushes the MA used...I agree that MA's are pretty consistent with their maintenance and hygiene of all the products and brushes they use.
I understand you being upset...But there is no way a MA would know you would be sensitive to a particular foundation...it's pretty much trial and error....
However, if I had a skin problem or sensitivity...and I find something that works...I wouldn't have switched...

I switched because even though Clinique does not break me out.. I've tried 2 different foundations that they end up not working for me... the first one was too cakey and the one I have now I put it on and 15 minutes later I am a grease fest!! LOL so I read about their new Even better make up so tomorrow I'll be giving it a try... I hate going foundation shopping but I can't live without it..I know contradicting!

I totally understand...But the thing with Foundation...You won't know until you have tried it on your skin if you will have a reaction to it....unless there are certain ingredients that you are allergic to..then you might want to make sure those ingredients aren't in the product...I know you are upset...But I just don't think you can be upset with MAC ...they clearly have no way of knowing how the product will affect everyone...But I hope you find something that does work for you...I know skin breakouts can be stressful

Out of curiousity which foundation have you tried from Clinique? I'm curious because I work for them so yeah makin sure you were using the right one lol. Even Better foundation is awesome! I love it alot it covers and matches me really well considering I can hardly find a match straight out of the bottle. By the way Macy's has a gift with purchase starting on Monday for Clinique so when you get that even better foundation you can at least get a gift, just a heads up!

oH goodness.. I was reading reviews at makeupalley and even the MSF has a good chance of breaking me out so.. I was gonna keep it but I am returning both..I did my make up today and not happy with my left side of my face..blah!

Yeah the even better makeup is $24.50 and at Macy's any $21.50 or more purchase gets you a free gift. I work for them and only Superfit, Work Out Wear, and the Even Better have only impressed me as far as our foundations go cause I'm normal to oily. I sooo did not like Superbalanced on me.

I am not sure which one gave me this the Studio Fix or the MSF or both.. yesterday I only used the MSF on top of my clinique Foundation and today it's even worse!! MAC should do something about the Acne prone skin population... if they kknow they are sooo popular they should change the ingredients or something.. I dunno... I am still not sure if this is a break out or a nasty allergic reaction.. in person looks worse.. somehow the camera did not pick all of it but you can see it's not pretty and I feel so bad

I am doing this for the girls that are thinking on buying it and are acne prone.. DO NOT BUY! If you have normal skin.. then go ahead I guess...

Maybe the majority of MAC customers have not complained about this being a problem for them...So why would they change it based on the minority.

I think it is probably the MSF not the foundation...I have "heard" that people with acne prone skin should not use these because they do tend to irritate their skin and cause breakouts

It appears to be happening only in the place you applied the MSF, correct?

I do not think there is a minority IMO I've read many good reviews and many bad reviews.. I think people are not complaining to the company.. or the company is not listening..

I got caught up in the rave that this foundation was great.. so I guess I made a big mistake buying it..super regret it.. I still love MAC .. I do not want to offedn anyone here.. I know a lot of people use it.. I'll stick with eyeshadows, blushes, and lippies.. but no more face products for me.

I applied it all over my face to set the foundation.. the MSF

I have the Love Rock blush.. do you think this is also contributing? this is a kind of MSF right? or are u talking about the MSF Natural powder???

I think if the MSF breaks your face out the MFS blushes probably will as well..they are super oily IMO .... I would think the MFS Blush would be far worse on the skin than the MFS....Maybe you should get on MAC chat tomorrow and ask them what their thoughts are...they probably have dealt with this before

The Grand Duos leave my face super greasy for some reason .. The original Mineralized blushes never left my face this oily and I have dry skin.

I said that because compared to the positive reviews I have only seen about 10% if that much negative...Although I haven't done much research on the issue...just from reading reviews from a small minority of like 200 people compared to their billions of customers.

I don't think you are offending anyone....If it doesn't work for you it doesn't work

Thank God I have my receipt still.. i will be returning love rock as well.. thanks for your input.. it was such a pretty color.. i think the combination of the 3 products caused this

I like it to...but I have gone back to using Tippy + Blonde MFS...it is just to greasy for me...But I know it works well for a lot of people

you say you got studio fix and MSFN? you shouldn't use both together, as that's too much makeup. or do you mean you got studio fix fluid?

it sounds like its the mineralize products in general. you may just be allergic to one of the minerals in it. its prolly an allergic reaction rather than acne given the time frame. either that or you aren't cleaning your face properly.

I meant the Studio fix fluid and The MUA recommended the MSF natural. I took benadryl tonight to see if it is an allergic reaction.. which I think it is because I agrre.. acne does not come that soon.. I did clean my face very well those two days.. we'll see..

If you have some sort of topical Benedryl (they have a spray and a gel, but I wouldn't put the cream Benedryl on your face - tooooo pore clogging) that would probably work better than taking Benedryl. I have skin allergies, so I totally feel your pain! I've used the Benedryl spray on my face when I've gotten something on my face that I'm allergic to, and while it will leave a bit of a medicine-y film on your face (which gets thicker the more times you layer it on), it really helped me.

daaamn, that sucks! but as much as i love MAC, thats the reason i'm cool on their foundations. i hear about them breaking folks out ALL the time and even though i dont have perfect skin, i dont want it making me look like i've got chickenpox either. i hope your skin recovers soon

I'm not going into a long story but I pretty much went through the same thing you did and finally broke it down and figured out that it was the MSFN that broke me out.
