What do you do with your empty boxes

I kept mine for the longest time until I moved a couple of years ago, I recycled the ones I had then. I've been keeping most of the ones from new things I've bought lately though. I don't really know why I do it, I guess it does come in handy if you decide you want to swap something down the line. For some reason I like when swap items come in their boxes, even if they've already been used!

I keep mine- I have no idea why! It's a little strange, but it feels wrong to get rid of them.

I keep all my MSFs, my MBs and my regular blushes in their boxes, that makes them easier to storage in my drawers.

I also keep all items in special packaging in their boxes (e/s, l/g, l/s, blushes,....) because I LOVE special packaging and boxes!

I throw mine out. I find it far too awkward to keep things in their boxes and I don't have the space in our small apartment to keep lots of empty boxes!

I used to hold on to my boxes, but now I keep a milk crate with the boxes of makeup purchased in the last few months (in case I want to return something) and then I periodically throw them away. It was hard at first, but I don't use them, and I don't need them just taking up space.

I used to keep them until early this year, I recycled them. I even had those boxes from 2006!

I'm trying really hard not to hoarde things that I don't need (as in the past I have kept everything), so I throw all my makeup boxes out.

I still however, a box full of empty perfume boxes.... that's a harder step to overcome!

i usually keep the boxes of items i think i might want to part with later on - and i mean way later on, heaven forbid i become unaddicted to MAC... shudder! you know those huge black cardboard boxes that MAC sends when you order online? i use those for storage. i break down the boxes so that they lay flat.

I have yet to throw out any of my boxes (I've only been buying MAC for a couple of months). In fairness, that was also because I wanted them on hand if I had a bad reaction to something and needed to take it back. I've been sticking them in an unused drawer in my bathroom.

But I admit, I definitely have packrat tendencies (just ask my boyfriend!). The drawer is getting fairly stuffed full of boxes of things I've bought since I came back to make up last fall, so the situation can't continue!

Wow, I can't believe I just read this entire thread. lol I guess it's because I *know* I should just throw mine out, but for some reason I keep them all. I have thrown some out in the past though, and in one case I regretted it. Also, I keep them in case I need the little round stickers - When I depotted my Shadowy lady quad I used the "shadowy lady" sticker for that pan. I also have Contrast, Solar White and Deep Truth depotted from quads, and I'd LOVE to put the original stickers on those pans - this is where I would hope someone has kept the box from the perm e/s pots and will swap them over to me

I've also swapped some of my empty boxes to people who want them for similarly crazy reasons. Wow, enough about empty boxes now...

I recycle mine, but keep any special ones that really catch my eye (for example, Baroque Boudoir). I collapse those ones and tack them up on my "inspiration board" above where I store my make-up.

My boxes go into school with my daughter and are re-birthed into all manner of creations through box collage. The teacher loves them because they are smaller than the usual boxes sent in and are very useful for making robots and spacecraft apparently.

I toss mine. I don't have the room to keep them around. Only ones I ever kept were all the Hello Kitty packaging, and they're in one of the totes that were given out with that collection.

Im so happy someone made a thread about this! I like to keep all cosmetics boxes even thought I know I shouldnt. My sister even makes fun of me and sometimes, I have to ask her to rip up a box for me because I cant seem to do it.

I like keeping the special packaged ones, but even the regualr boxes I dont want to throw out.

So now Ive just bought a bunch of eyeshadows and a blush, and the boxes are staring at me. What to do, what to do?

haha i keep my boxes too! now because of space constrains in my current collage place i'm staying i stash the boxes away in the cupboard! But i keep stuff which i dont use often in boxes (pigments for example).

When i'm at my other house, i keep everything in the boxes just because i love mac boxes they are matt, black & pretty!

Just don't stain them! They look ugly when they have like fingerprints!

I used to keep all the boxes until I realized that I wasn't sure what I'd ever do with them, so I recycled them.

I have a drawer, full of empty boxes that go to everything that I have that's MAC, and for the stuff I no longer have, I cut the boxes in half, and use them for storage....
When my MAC collection was small, I kept EVERYTHING in it's box but I don't have the room to do that anymore.
But don't feel bad for keeping your boxes cause I do too, I like it when I buy something from a sale on a makeup site and they come with their box, and just incase anyone feel's the way I do, I keep my boxes
