MAC? Is there any particular reason why? and what did you buy for your first MAC product?

for me it was when i was in NYC in 2003 and i was looking through macy's and i saw a MAC counter so i thought Ooooh! I'll check that out, needless to say i left with Amber Lights e/s and Lovechild l/g. i had more since but for liking MAC for 2 years id thought id have a big collection but noooo i dont have a MAC counter or store in the 100 mile radius of where i live

what drew me to MAC was the totally versatile color range in eyeshadows and lipcolors. My very first MAC product was Melton Mauve Eyeshadow... Because i was running around the department store asking every counter if they had a bright pink shadow and they all said "try MAC". And to this day i have over 3 grand worth of stuff. Thanks a lot department store ladies! haha

let's see, it was 8th grade, i was working on a film project thing for an english class, and we had to wear makeup on camera, so as to not look like ghosts. my friend had twig lipstick, back in its original non-bullet packaging, and i was instantly in love. this was about 8 years ago. i liked mac, but i was always interested in other brands as well, until recently, when i decided to start collecting again. the frustrating this is, if i had KEPT all the mac i acquired over the years, i would have some amazingly hard to find stuff by now. but back then, i didn't know its value, and threw a lot of mac quads and old shadows and stuff away bc i figured they'd be too old to use. now i wish i had them, even just as a collectors item..

for me it was COLOR. At every counter in our malls they have the same colors, browns tans greys light pinks etc... and your basic *maw-maw* colors With MAC everything in teh store just seemed young and hip, geared to MY generation (I know its not really) And the MA's there wernt snobby to me because Im young. My first purchase from MAC was an es quad with Sushi flower shroom and print, after that I couldnt stop!

All of my girlfriends in college really liked MAC and for some reason it really didn't interest me.

I was reading an US Weekly a few years ago and there was a list of products that you could use to recreate a Jennifer Lopez look and one of them was Old Gold pigment.

I went to my MAC counter and the current collection was for Aquadaisiac and from then on I was a MAC addict! To this day I kick myself for not listening to my friends raves about MAC!

I always looked at it and whatnot when I was at the malls, but I never really got anything, then I was listening to the placebo song 'I Do' and it says something about MAC and the next time I was at MAC I got something. haha, THANKS BRIAN MOLKO.

I think it was all the magazines raving over spice lipliner all these years. Quite a few years ago (7? 10? who knows now....) I finally broke down & bought it, and I've never looked back lol!

I got a prom make-over when I graduated highschool and bought my first few MAC eyeshadows then. I didn't really get back to actually start buying more MAC stuff until a few years ago, makeup didn't really interest me that much to look beyond drugstore stuff. Now I have a hard time looking at anything BUT department store brands!

Skin allergies. MAC is one of the few brands that doesn't give me itchy red hives. Well, some of its products do (liquid foundations) but only a couple and I can live without them.

First it was the rave on MUA... it made me to check out the counters and wow, i was impressed. The colors are so extensive and the MAs were nice to me. The colors are all pigmented and fun~ shame to admit that I am quite drawn to LE too...

It was the late 90's and a friend of mine came back from Cleveland with a new powder and it was Studio Fix and she was raving about how great it was. At that time all we had here was Lancome, Clinique, Lauder and maybe like Arden. Anyways, I started investigating MAC and fell in love with the color stories and pics. and things, it sounded so fun. So I bought some on ebay in like 1998 and loved it and decided to splurge on it full price and have been hooked ever since. I think the first thing I bought was maybe Shitaki lipstick and Electric Eel e/s, which is so not me because I hate nude lips and I don't really do blue on me!

The diversity of the products and the color selection. I'm still fairly new to MAC, since my first real collection purchase was the Lingerie collection. The thing that keeps me coming back is the creative products and of course mineralized skinfinishes.

About four years ago I finally visited mac because a woman on my Mommy board raved about them...So I went in and didnt' have much money and bought a blush (I was on the quest for a perfect blush) then I seen that beautiful huge eyeshadow display and fell in love. Unfortunately I never got back up to the city to buy any more until I got a debit card and lived in the sticks and started buying online in January 05 - then I was totally hooked!! I have so much mac now and now I am proud to say I can do a total mac face with out using other brands, lol! The diversity is one thing I love all other makeup brands look blah next to mac. Plus mac isn't quite as high dollar as some other lines.

I've always peered over @ MAC but never went up to buy anything b/c I was intimidated by dept. store brands. I got hooked when we registered @ The Bay for our wedding and I got a few complimentary makeovers, one of them being MAC (another was Shisdeido, but they never called me back..sucks for them!). I got Honesty and Trax, and the composition of Trax mesmerized me. I didn't get too much more for the wedding (tho I wanted to - we didn't know what our financial status after wedding) but kept going back afterward for other weddings. Aquadisiac in July along w/ Flash of Flesh, Pink Clash a bit later...I'm HOOKED! Especially after going back for FoF and finding it sold out...

Almost 10 years I visited Nordstrom in Dallas, and they had a MAC counter right in the Juniors' Dept (smart marketing!). I happened upon Captive lipstick (loved the name and the color). A few months later I visited the MAC store in Houston and bought Twig lipstick (I actually used up 2 of these!). Those shades are way too dark for my tastes now, but hey it was the late '90s! For nostalgia's sake, I still have my original Captive lipstick in the non-bullet-style tube. Ah, memories...

MAC had the colours that I dreamed about but never saw on makeup counters. I used Clinique and Estee lauder before MAC and their colours aren't bright or punchy, they're very mellow.

I've always enjoyed makeup, then last year I joined myspace, and some of the makeup groups on there, and someone mentioned specktra. I hadn't really heard of MAC before, but I saw all these fotds and fell in love. I didn't know about stores near me and the uk website wasn't online, so I heard of pigment samples and got a few. Totally fell in love, managed to find a store not too far away, I went in and just fell in love, I'm a poor student so didn't buy much, but since then I love mac!

my first mac product was lustreleaf e/s and its still my very favourite mac e/s. ive got a lot more now, i just love the colours and the quality and staying power of mac
