What is your 'Power' lipstick shade? (For uni, please respond)

Hi everyone

I'm looking at the effect of cosmetics on our femininity for an art assignment. If you could let me know via the poll and through comments what lipstick colour you opt for to 'steel yourself' that would be fantastic! What I'm talking about is when you choose to apply lipstick for a particular reason - you may apply a nude that makes you feel great for a job interview, or a bright pink when you're feeling down because you know that colour makes you feel fantastic - maybe you swipe on red lippy when you're feeling defiant at the world! Whatever your reasons, I'd love to hear them

If there's a different cosmetic or beauty ritual you favour instead (a la Elle Woods tearing through town looking for a manicurist in Legally Blonde) please tell me about that too. Thanks in advance to any and everyone who participates in this. I really appreciate it!

I voted "Nude". Why: A feeling of power requires a feeling of confidence. To not feel self conscious and be able to focus on the (presumably important) task at hand (not if I have bright pink lipstick on my teeth) I'd go for a neutral like Patisserie. Put together, but quit conservative.

For me it's any type of pink that stands out. Like fuschia or any type of deep pink. Mainly it's because I don't put alot of color on my lips, I wear a light shimmery pink most of the time. So going darker makes me feel more confident. Hopefully, I'll be able to feel comfortable with red lipstick as well lol.

Mauve, all the way, I got hooked on it when I was a kid, not a bright mauve, more like a neutral, Mauve/Raisin, matches my lip colour perfectly so just enhances my natural lip colour, kind of colour. I really like the whole 'I'm not trying, I just look this way naturally' kind of looks when I am out having fun. I play with brights on my eyes sometimes but on my lips i'm most comfy with them being pretty neutral. I try and branch out but its just not something that suits my personality. I'm the girl with the pretty eyes. I like the focus to be there for the most part. !

Generally, I like what I was born with. I'll change it however the mood seems to fit me based on the colors that I'm wearing.

Mine would be red or pink, both just brighten me up.
I've never really tried a nude lip, just pale pink, since I'm so pale, I'm worried it would make me look dead.

it all depends on the ur personality I guess. For me it would be red. The bluer and brighter the better

RED! especially when i am wearing MAC "Rocker". To me, it screams power, confidence, sexiness.

Red, any shade from blackened to bright, and explosive pink (think Girl About Town).

When I wear either, I get compliments on them.

Varies (almost always bright and bold- love catching the reflection off of windows etc) but MAC's Morange, Violetta, Girl About Town and MAC Red are the ones I wear when I need that extra confidence boost, everyone notices and so far I've only had compliments about it.

For me, it really depends on the situation. Do I want to feel pretty and cute when I go shopping? I generally wear a soft pink or mauve shade--today I wore Jane's Girlie, for example. Do I want to look professional and clean-cut? Then I tend to go all-neutral or use just minor bursts of color, which means a nude lippie or a lipstain. Am I going out with friends? Then I tend to go for "vivid" colors, like fuchsia, bright pink, dark red, various shades of purple, and sometimes even orange. Are we going clubbing? The once again, it really depends on my mood, but that's when I whip my blues and blacks out!

The only colors I never really wear on my lips are brown and green. Brown is too dark for me and makes me look stupid, like I've been eating chocolate, and green just isn't one of my favorite colors.

Berry! Pinks are too light & purples are too dark, so this is right in-between; the best of both worlds.

I mostly wear blue, green, yellow or purple lipstick.

I wear these colours simply because I do not like red or pink.

my power makeup is very neutral and mostly matte. MFBB. (my face but better)

i want people to notice me, and not my makeup. but i still know i look polished, which gives me confidence.
