Hi ladies , I live in the Bible Belt lol and I'm used to only a small amount of people that basically hold the same or similar beliefs. I was just curious to see what range of religions we have on here. I'm adding the top religions according to the website I googled =) If you are anything other than mentioned please explain.

I don't practice any religion. I'm still debating the existance of God, but as far as religions go, I don't think they make sense in today's society. Just my personal opinion

My parents are both buddhists but they raised us to beleive that there is no higher power and once you die your in a deep sleep forever, and i beleive it in some way, even though i wish there was a higher power up in the sky, too many bad happens to good people and so many crap going around the world and a lot people who live in wealthy countries are oblivious to it all including me, with all the things going on in this world... it makes me wonder sometimes..

Other. I'd like to think that each and every religion offers something for me, and I take from them accordingly. I'm still learning, searching, discovering. I recently read Eat, Pray, Love and thought that the author had a really similar viewpoint to my own.

I'm so sorry I left Judaism.... I'm studying Hebrew right now in my class I can't believe I left it out , and I don't think I can revise the poll..... SOOO sorry guys

This is the website I took the Top religions from .... Judaism was 12th on the list.... I guess thats how I overlooked it. I'm truly sorry and didn't do it intentionally, Learning about the Hebrew people is what sparked my interest ....

I guess I'm pentecostal. My dad is a Pastor, and I was raised Pentecostal. However, there are some things I definitely disagree with.

I was raised Catholic but do not believe in any sort of Christianity. I identify myself with the Buddhist philosophy. I don't know if there is a higher power or not, but I don't think that's something we're supposed to know - I think we're supposed to live the best way we can, and that's different for everyone.

I was raised hard core catholic but decided at a very early age that I didnt believe in God. I believe that people used religion to explain what they didnt know (science). However, I think there is some good stuff in the bible, such as the 10 comandments. I try to live my life by it, I just dont believe in a higher being, If that makes any sense lol. My family is part catholic, part protestant, and part jewish, so I respect all religions. I find it very very interesting as well. I love to hear peoples thoughts on it.

i agree with you guys. i don't believe in god, or a god, and never have, mostly for the reasons manbeater listed. nor do i believe in religion, for reasons i won't go into right now, but one is what shadowylady touched on. i believe in evolution, not creation.

Too bad "Recovering Catholic" wasn't one of the options, hehe. I basically had the Catholic faith forced upon me throughout my childhood. I was forced to attend Catholic school from 1-8th grade. Luckily, I went to public school for high school. I completed all of my sacraments, was made to attend CCD and be part of our parish's youth group. My parents are both extremely traditional Cubans. My mom still attends Mass everyday.
Once I was old enough to realize the hypocrisy of the Catholic faith (and old enough to drive, lol) I stopped attending Mass.
I spent a lot of time in my 20s trying to find the "best" religion for me. Of course, I never found it- the closest I have come is Buddhism.
I do believe in a "God" or "higher power" but I do not believe I must be part of a religion to have a personal relationship with my Higher Power. I get on my knees every morning asking for strength and guidance to get through the day. Every night I thank him/her for giving me another day and I ask HP to look after everyone important in my life.
I am not against anyone who chooses to be a part of organized religion. It's just not for me. I believe that people get lost in the rituals and do's and dont's associated with established religion and the God/Higher Power concept is no longer important to them.
To each his/her own, I believe. And if it works for you and you have faith, I respect that. <3

I think the want to know where we came from and why were are here is engrained in mankind. I also feel that most organized religions have drifted from their original principles. I think that most religions my own included have a very outdated way of thinking. Religions were created to meet basic human needs like moral values, and explanation of the unknown Not so much to cause strife or animosity between people. I wish people were more accepting of each other and that religions were solving more problems than they were creating.
