Woe is me! Airport Security Blues

awwww. that is terrible. i stuffed 2 lipglosses in my pocket to prevent their disappearance, and smuggled them onboard (i didn't have a ziploc for them and forgot i had them on my purse)...then i walked thorugh the metal detector. then put them back in my bag.

i don't think i could have parted with the stash you had. i would have started to cry!

edited to add: i bet there is an airline security girl grabbing all of these glosses for back to MAC LOL

I just came to NYC from LA last week to visit my cousin for a few weeks. I mailed her some stuff that I wasn't allowed to take on the plane (shampoo, mixing medium, perfume, liquidy stuff) maybe 3 days before my flight so I can have it with me for my trip. Airport security it just ridiculous these days! If you know you're gonna be somewhere for a while just get it mailed to where you are staying. You can have it sent to most hotels also.

i just flew international and i had all my liquids in a ziploc bag, and didn't have any problems. As long as they're less than 3 oz each you're allowed to take it on board.

I hate this paranoia. I appreciate where it's coming from, but... who's winning this war, eh? It's stupid when even our makeup becomes political! /rant

I think when I take a plane next, I'll just bring my wallet and a hairbrush. So what if my face isn't fresh - it's too much of a hassle to figure it all out.

I did cry! am I am still blue 2 days later...I guess I'll have to restock.

That rather depends where you're flying from and to. Here in the UK, any liquid or gel cosmetic product is still strictly forbidden from being taken in hand luggage. We can't even take toothpaste onboard. I'll be flying to Gibraltar in three weeks and I can't even take Carmex lip balm into the cabin with me.

I just flew to San Fran last month and right after you have your baggage scanned, they don't care. There's all those shops at airports and I just bought lip balm at the store and shoved it in my pocket. I saw people bringing COFFEE on board the plane and people with bottles of water.
