Is the hiring process the same here as with a freestanding MAC store ? If not, could someone tell me what to expect working for MAC (or any cosmetic line actually) at a department store such as these ? Thank you.
Working at Macy's, Nordie's, etc.

when you work at nordstrom mac, you are a nordstrom employee and go through nordstrom's hiring process. for nordstrom mac, you still do a demo but that is only for the mac counter.
any other mac counter or store, you are a mac employee and will go through the mac hiring process.
working for any line is about the same no matter where you go. but if i didn't work for mac and i worked in a cosmetic department, i would work for bobbi brown or laura mercier. both of those lines have a built-in customer and easy to sell. i've worked for smaller lines and it just wasnt for me. pulling people, cold calling, and pre-selling, i just couldn't handle it.
