Working for MAC

hello everyone, i just joined!
i have worked in retail for almost 8 years now, and i have decided to move on and do something a little more interesting/challenging with my life. my question is what is the best way to become a makeup artist? i have always loved doing my own makeup and have occasionally done some fashion shows for friends, or done their makeup before going out. i don't have a cosmetology license or any formal training. if anyone has any tips it would be greatly appreciated!

check out the threads here there are so many on this topic they will be of great help to you and answer a lot of your questions. getting in with mac is hard!! they are considered the leading makeup authority so you need to know your stuff not just about the company how to apply makeup for everyone knowing the trends working on different eye shapes. mac does no teach you makeup your expected to know
