hello, so i've just been offered a job working the fragrance counter at Macy's. I'm very excited, and i'd like to hear others' experiences and two-cents on the position.

It's a seasonal position and I'm hoping to be hired into cosmetics after it ends...
my only other job was subway, and I worked alone every night I worked there, so I have no idea what to expect

Even with the economy issues, you should do well in fragrance. Be friendly and listen to the customer to find out which scents he/she prefers. A lot of times, persons will come in because of a whiff of some fragrance ad in a magazine. It's not a hard sell, especially with men. Continue with your positive attitude and you should do great!
