I am soo late in posting, but I finally got a day off because I am home sick! Well, at least something good is coming of my misery
smiles.gif

I saved all summer for this collection, and I am very happy with every piece that I got! I have NW20 skin, sometimes even lighter, with dark brown hair and hazel/green eyes if you're wondering what will work well on you
smiles.gif

Evil Queen
1. Oh So Fair - I had to decide between BR and this one, and I am very happy with my choice! It gives just a subtle hint of colour, but builds well and looks very natural. This is one of those "my boyfriend commented on how pretty my skin looked but couldn't say what was different" type of products
smiles.gif

2. Strange Potion - I really love this peachy colour paired with similar colours for a summery look - I do find it a bit strange to wear in fall, though! I also find it to be slightly thicker than some other lipglass formulas, but it wears well because of this!

Cruella
1. Heartless - AWESOME red! Seriously my HG. It leans slightly towards a blue red, which tend to go pink on me, but paired with WW which leans more to orange, it is my PERFECT red lip. I have received endless compliments on this one!!
2. Wicked Ways - Beautiful red! I really like it on its own, but it is AMAZING with Heartless. (See above!
smiles.gif
)
3. Innocence, Beware! - Great neutral colour - it reminded me of a slightly pinker, lighter version of Brave New Bronze.
4. Devilishly Stylish - I love this colour! Paired with IB, it is perfect for an understated but polished lip with a smokey eye
smiles.gif
It's also really pretty for everyday wear on its own.

Maleficent
1. Formidable! - I heard you can dupe these with Orly polishes, but it's so much harder for me to get a hold of them than MAC products! I have it on my toes right now and love the way it changes colours. I WAS disappointed that none of the nail polishes had Maleficent on them or the cardboard packaging! So sad I don't have anything with Maleficent on it now
ssad.gif

2. Bad Fairy - Another dupable one, but I really love the firey reds, oranges and pinks in this polish! Awesome fall colour - it reminds me of the changing leaves
smiles.gif

Dr. Facilier
1. Melon Pigment - Once again, I was sad there was no special packaging for this one, especially because it's a permanent colour, but I have shied away from pigments in the past and this one seemed very friendly to start with.
2. Resort Life - I'm sad that MAC is discontinuing the Lip Gelees! This one is sheer but lots of fun - I have all sorts of ideas for this one for Hallowe'en! I've had fun playing with this one on my cheeks and around my eyes as well as on my lips.

I obviously have too much time on my hands right now! Hope this was helpful to some of you

I'm really disappointed, I did a CP for several things from this collection since this collection won't be here for at least another month.

Her alter image e/s was everything I wanted beautiful iris to be
smiles.gif

Vile violet e/s goes very well with HAI
smiles.gif

Hot house l/g - amazing but I'm weird, I like stickier lipglasses than this but over all
smiles.gif

But than I tried the other things I ordered....

Strange potion l/g - I knew I shouldn't have tried it, I'm too pink toned for it, I just looked like a 4 year old trying her mom makeup
ssad.gif

Revenge is sweet l/g - I just can't describe how it look on my lips, maybe like a 4 year old who doesn't know how to eat.
ssad.gif

Wicked ways l/g - That's my bad, I usually go for light lips or nothing at all on them and this was just an experiment which failed because it is too dramatic for me for daily use (I'm a phd student and the only one in my lab that even wears makeup so a red lipglass would be very alien-like)
ssad.gif

Fortunately for me, my sister has a much more neutral skin tone so pretty much everything I can't carry she can and these lipglasses were in her wish list for this collection I traded them with her for a mac gift card
smiles.gif

My conclusion from this is basically everything that looks great on temptalia will look like a disaster on me! I wonder if those things that look awful on her will look good on me...

Just for reference I'm a very cool toned NW20, any e/s that is even remotely warm make me look ill.

Sorry for the long post I just needed to vent a little :p

Just edited to say that I tried Wicked ways l/g again and it looks stunning but my sister will make better use of it
smiles.gif
I think I need to start with a lighter red maybe a luster lipstick so that it would be less overwhelming,

Do PhD students not wear makeup?!

I hope I won't be the "odd one out" when I do grad school next time. I refuse to give up my blushes and lippies.

In my country people dress very very casual and in universities (and laboratories) most women wear very light neutral makeup, the heavier makeup is reserved for when we'll be grownups and go to work in the real world :p but to be honest around here in the university even most professors don't wear makeup on their face let alone eyeshadows, blushes etc..
People always look at me oddly when I wear a bright colorful eye look, but I'm learning to not really care and just wear what I want according to my mood!
smiles.gif

Just edited to add that most of my friends don't even own makeup! and it is always a struggle with my boyfriend who absolutely detests makeup and if he thought he could get away with it he would take out all my makeup to the trash!

Most of my friends don't wear makeup either AND when I worked in a lab, talk about a lack of makeup! I was definitely the only one wearing bright looks--or any looks at all. I kind of liked it. It was my thing

the MES, the nail polishes, oh so fair, toxic tale

i almost got innocence beware but i'd just told a lovely girl on specktra i would buy it off her, and she was only charging me retail plus basic postage, and i'd much rather give her my money!

your boyfriend should be supportive, try and explain to him, that its a way of being creative, like painting or drawing an if he loves you he will nuture your creativity, if he still wants to throw it in the trash maybe you should start rethinking whether this boy has your best interests at heart.

and i bet all those people stare cos they're thinking 'damn! wish i could rock that bright coloured eye like her' i bet before long you'll get a couple girls at the uni come up to you and ask to do their make up for formal occasions!

ps you are beautiful i bet they're all just jealous!

with everything Alana said. If he doesn't want you wearing makeup and you want to, you should move on.

And I'm totally 100% jealous of you hair. I'd give anything for it.

Oh thats OK he loves me, just hates makeup but every once in a while he will say to me I really like the way you put your makeup today
smiles.gif
my father always tells him to do what he did and just give up the makeup fight (my mom also loves makeup and my sister is even a spectra member since well before I joined).

The funny thing about that picture is that I don't have any makeup on me

I liked everything I got. No disappointments this time around! I wanted Heartless to be a little brighter--wears darker on me than I had imagined but I still love it. Haven't tried Violetta on yet, I'm waiting for the right look.

Well as I said in the post that started all of this I got and loved Her alter image, vile violet and hot house. I also got and didn't love on me wicked ways, revenge is sweet and strange potion - the colors just clashed with my colorings so I traded them with my sister for an equivalent mac gift card
smiles.gif

Now I'm considering (the collection will be here only mid to end of November) bite of an apple (but I have pupa Luminys Velvety baked blush 08 which is coral http://www.stylistka.pl/img/kosmetyk/3058/luminys-baked-blush-roz-wypiekany-pupa_3446_3.jpeg, the middle right) and Darkly my dear but mostly as a conturing blush I use now mac's matte bronzer but I'm looking for something more pinkish brown).

My hair color is the only part of me I have never had any issue with, everything else I like/dislike based on my mood of the day

I think I like all of the things I got, although Truth&Light does not look very good on me…I think it makes my skin a bit dull, that's a shame 'cause I love the product…gotta try it with some different foundation or something..

The other things I got:

- Oh so fair BP…lovely! Looks very natural on my cheeks, I don't like bold blushes on me so this is great when I have bold eyes or lips
- Briar rose BP such a pretty color!
- My Dark Magic and She Who dares…surprisingly I like the second better. I love purple but I own a lot of purple/ish eye makeup while blues and greens aren't a major presence in my stash.
- Nail polishes - got all of them cause Orly isn't so easy to find here, I especially like mean&green, so unusual! Too bad they're very sheer, I need 4 coats.
- Plush the edge pigment - I had a sample of this from the last time it was released and loved it as an eyeliner. I wore it the day I went to pickup my order and I was so surprised to see it was the same color, I did not remember when I got it and which collection it was in but I really wanted it. This is my first fullsize pigment ^_^ we don't get a lot of pigments at my local MAC counter (only the LE ones)
- Hot House & resort life - I went back at MAC just to get these two
- Wrong spell - This is maybe the only product that's still in stock on their website, so I guess I'm one of the very few people who actually likes it. What can I say? I'm really connecting with my inner dark lady lately…if only I had more chances to wear this...

I wish I could have put my hands on wicked ways 'cause it looked so nice in the swatches but I didn't feel bold enough to buy a red without trying it first. I never wear red on my lips. Full lips come with cons too, and mine are way too big to afford bold colors...

edit: Tamarindi, I don't know where you live, but I don't have many friends who love make up as much as I do either, especially bold crazy nail colors. I'm always the one who spends way too much in makeup and I feel judged about that, like I'm waisting money on stupid things.
Except other people usually spend way too much in shoes, clothes, mobile phones they can barely use but are such a status symbol they absolutely need it (yes iphone, I'm talking to you), cars, furniture, any other thing...
I just spend too much in makeup. It's my own money and it makes me happy. What's wrong with that?
winks.gif

Oh, and I love your hair too (it's you in the profile pic right?). I'm obsessed with ginger hair! I sooo wish I had ginger hair…but mine is a light/golden/auburn/something brown and about 40 inches long, it gets weak and dry when I die it so I'm keeping my natural color until it turns to gray.

Well, last night the top of my Oh So Fair BP FELL THROUGH! (The mirror).
shockt.gif
I'm sooooo sad! Thank god I make jewellery and can crazy glue it back together, because I got it online and can't return it any more and I'm sure there aren't any replacements easily available! I love the actual product, though
smiles.gif

As for boyfriends and makeup, the one thing my boyfriend HATES is lipgloss, but not because he doesn't like it on me - it's because he hates not being able to kiss me when I'm looking my best!
blush-anim-cl.gif
lol He doesn't understand my makeup addiction very well either, but he definitely understands it's an artistic outlet and it's literally part of my meditation and peace of mind every morning as I get ready for school and work!

And yes, PhD students can DEFINITELY wear makeup. I'm only a Master's student, but I'm still the only one who will dare a bold red lip or a colourful eye! That doesn't stop me
smiles.gif
I'm also in the field of elementary education, though, and I can understand why some teachers would feel strange going to teach kindergarten done up to the nines! It's a messy (but fun!) line of work

I keep wondering if I made a mistake not getting a beauty powder. I have Shell Pearl from Liberty of London, so didn't think I really needed more. Urgh!
