Push The Edge pigment was at MAC today saying "pick me, pick meee, not Later.! Meeeeeee!" but then I thought of the "PTE" (WN) e/s that HerGreyness told us about and it was a happy and peaceful decline, rather than a sad and frustrated one

Thank you, HerGreyness!!

i am loving the hot-pink cheeks that's so hot this fall...i have never liked bright pink blushes because I have always thought i was too warm toned to carry them but dollymix has proven me wrong! it's actually warmer than what it looks like in swatches

i bought chanel's tweed fuschia and thought i would be all over that, but i actually prefer mac's dollymix for the look i am going for here (mac nc25, dior nude 031). I think that my secret to applying heavily pigmented blushes like that is the 188...i totally scoffed at the 188 when i first saw it b/c i thought it was just a wimpy, gimmick version of the 187, of which i have two of, but the size works wonders for dispersing color evenly in a small area. with a blush like dollymix, i definitely don't want it all over my face

now i am regretting not paying attention to blushes like dollymix before in the past (have i missed out on many?)...even though my dollymix now barely looks touched, i am too OBSESSED to give this up...i really hope mac is coming out with dolly sisters in 2011

as for lips i can't leave my plumful alone right now...it's such a nice red without being RED...perfect for fall. i put a little bonnebell lipsmacker chapstick on and then apply it and it pretty much lines itself and somehow looks natural yet colorful....i will try to post a pic this weekend after my exam

HerGreyness this thread totally revolves around you now...before you got here this thread was all speculation and randomness and now you have shined the light into the future and given us direction!

...you should highly consider adopting me....

oh and I just found the golden ES for Mickey Collex in my "archives"

Thank you liba for a great explanation of the new browns/nudes.... they are a bit misunderstood by the youngins

ISO perfect nudes/browns.. patience makes the lips get flocky

Thanks HG - gotta help out the whippersnappers! Not all browns will give you "poo lips". Not all nudes will give you "corpse lips".

I hope making such an overall trend of brown/nude for 2011 isn't going to backfire on MAC, with all its younger customers. It's a harder sell than coral, which is at least brightly colored. 'Trying to bring back the older crowd? I guess it depends on what the mainstream clothing trends will wind up being. The MAs are going to have their work cut out for them selling these shades.

remember randonmess and speculation is good too -- that is what makes for creativity. I try to share what I can with the ladies here, and would love to adopt you if you are posed to have a zooming career and can provide for me in my old age

I have been waiting for some nice sunlight cause the ES from this collex are amazing -- and with a flash they just glare back at the camera, but it's been rainy and nasty out so I will wait till tomorrow for better weather

but we believe we have ID two more of the ES !

exactly liba..

the overall trend is quite free imo -- there are many browns and nudes, but there are the brights too -- lots of orange/deeper corals and red oranges, lots of fuschia/pinks from light to darks. A whole plethora of colour awaits us for 2011 onwards -- and the best part for me is that there is so much new tech that they are all so easy to work with.

The demographics has something to do with it -- but it is more the clothing trends -- the camels, nudes, whites, pastels and florals which will mark the trend.

MAs are always working their butts off but I really think it's time, and it won't be so difficult because the customer is ready for sexy nude lips regardless of their age.

Layla, you are into everything! MAC isn't worried about spitfires like you!

p.s. don't ever change! Way better than getting stuck in one look for 25 years until it just looks dumb!

I really do love trying anything and everything. And I don't think I could ever fall into the same look everyday. I'm the first lady in my family, actually, who hasn't done that. I'm trying to get my mom and even my grandmother to try new things in their makeup routines. My mom has been fairly susceptible to changes, but my grandmother is a little more stubborn.

Oh well- I've helped one person.

i love nude lips! i dont even add a gloss on top most of the time like some people do. i find by wearing nude lips i can get away with super dramatic eyes during the day time more!

After going through my lipstick collection last night and organising it into "sets" by colour, I've determined that there really isn't a type of lip that I don't like. I have multiples of almost every shade under the rainbow. My collection of browns is a little smaller than the others, but there are still a few variants. So I guess I'm not quite telling the truth when I say I don't care for brown lips. I just have a little more trouble finding shades that work on me.

I love nude lips too! I think I actually even like nude glosses (worn alone) more than lipsticks if that's possible. The perfect nude gloss will always be a staple for me!

I had to pull my mom away from Clinique, too! She's finally using more MAC now. Yay!
And I don't think anyone in my family will ever like makeup as much as anyone here.

What is your fave nude gloss? I can't seem to find any good ones.

I can't say I'm crazy about any of Mac's permanent nude glosses. Bobbi Brown has some that I like better, actually.

In my experience nude glosses are just as hard to find as nude lipstick! It took a while to find just the right look for me. Some were too milky, and others too opaque, some were just gross looking and others made me look like I ate an entire container full of cream cheese frosting (yummy, but not attractive!).

My hands down favorite is Boy Bait Cremesheen Glass. Fabulous nude for me, always looks perfect. Thankfully it's perm now...I love it!
