MAC - Wonder Woman Discussion

I stopped by my fs store today to pick up a brow pencil and asked about their update they had this week. My fav ma wasn't in but the one there liked most the stuff. She said the tote is really cute, there wasn't a pic of it in the update book. I think she said it would be $49. I'm sure I will like it but I won't pay that, ah pretty sure I won't anyway

yes that is quite pricey. it will likely be about £35-£40 in the uk then which is far too pricey for a tote

I've been out of the loop for two days due to the horrendous road/storm we had. I was dreading working Wednesday with the forecast of up to 10" snow with sleet . Welp it started sleeting shortly before I left the station....roads got so bad and I got the Sprinter stuck in a parking lot of Don Pablos and sat there for 25 minutes till a passerby got my unstuck. THey finally called us all in around 5:45pm and it took me 6 hours to go 11 miles to get back to the station! It was horrible! There were cars abandoned EVERYWHERE on the sides of roads,, middle of the lanes then in the middle of the next lane.....ramps were filled with stuck cars, trucks, tractor trailers. You'd have to change lanes so many times due to cars being abandoned then you'd get stuck on the layers of ice . It was awful...just awful! We had 24 trucks that had to be towed. Some couriers didnt get back till 2am. I got back at almost midnight!! I never made it home so I stayed at a fellow co-workers house that lived just a few miles away from the station. I just got home yesterday afternoon but only enough to get a shower, get dressed and head back to work again. I"m beat....ugghh I never want to see another day like Wednesday!

Anyway so I just saw T's swatches and now I think all the quads are out for me, all the l/s... infact I guess the only thing I might get is the Pink Power MSF, Wonder Woman l/s and the blue and purple mascara. I do like Valiant e/s tho in the quad but that's the only color I like

Has anyone tried Opulash before? Does it add volume? Length? Or both? Do they last three month? LOL

Wow. I am such a sucker for great displays and atmosphere. I definitely need to stay away from the store until this collection is gone or else I'll end up buying a ton of crap that I know I don't want. I do love the packaging, though and I'm keeping my boxes.

I went to my MAC counter yesterday. I have an appointment on the 19th to view the collection. I just really want Golden Lariat MSF. I'm mostly indifferent to everything else.

The only thing I am on the fence about is the Amazon Princess blush. I really love the darker color on there, but since its a small part of the "duo", I might skip and try MAC Fever or Loverush for a similar deep berry at another time.

I just read a review of the collection being called "underwhelming", and I am wondering how much of an impact its going to have on what people decide to haul, if they haul anything at all.

Thanks for the link. I'm still thinking that the pink one will be rather dark on me because of the bronzer and I don't want to pay that only for the use of the two sides. But I do really like MA blush and will be getting it for sure.

I'm with you on this. The bronzer bit of Pink Power is putting me off because it looks rather orange, but I like the other bits, and I like the MSF packaging more than I like the blush compact. I definitely want Mighty Aphrodite though.

[/quote] Fever is awesome! I rarely use it, but it's great. I think people will still haul for many reasons: not wanting to feel left out, fearing missing out on something that is actually good, they love wonder woman, they love the art on the boxes. I struggled to find things I like because I am so used to jumping into collections and I like the packaging. I think people who buy multiple items for their own use, will end up returning a lot of it. I've decided to just get the one blush, Mighty Aphrodite and the green mascara. The original Opulash made my eyes tear up, but I want to give it another try. I really want a green non-waterproof mascara. I think I am about to browse Sephora and see if I can find a green mascara so I won't have to take a chance on Opulash. I really don't want to risk having to return something through the mail. I'll say it again: the most disappointing Mac collection in some time.

Grrrr after seeing that review [by Danielle, S&BD blog] - my list has dwindled within a space of 30 mins [having just posted in the Beauty Of Color thread].

Definitely sticking to 3 items!

- Spitfire, if I don't like it in person, i'll pass to my mum as she likes that shade lol.
- Athena's Kiss, since I missed out on True Babe last year and it has been compared to it.
- Mighty Aphrodite, waited for Ripe Peach to disappear from the shelves before I made up my mind so not missing this.

*tattooing the above in my memory* no slipping, gonna stick to this.

The novelty of this collection has truly warn off *sigh* - off to change my siggy - GAME OVER!

i never know until i get it and its always a suprise for me.. i was so meh about the fab feline collection but i use it more than the plaid or the disney collection which were must have the whole cdllection ones! since i never get to see it only on you tube or watches here, i buy blind, the ww colllect just reminds me of being in 8th grade watching linda carter as ww ( i could have been older but you get my drift) and loving the show!! i need it on that basis alone i think there are hidden treasures in this collect and i am sorry that people arent loving it like i do! anyhoo i am sure you will enjoy what you get it looks like a fun collection

I'll say it again: the most disappointing Mac collection in some time.

I just got back from Soho. I got a chance to view the whole collection, I must say I agree with you on your sentiment of this collection. IT was a huge disapointent (at least for me anyway) I only got golden lariat MSF and that's becuase it looked absolutely gorgeous on me!(mufe 177/mat velvet #70 MAC NC50/C7) so much so, that I got 2 of them.
Pink power did nothing for my skin tone. It looks much better on light to medium skin tones. It looked well on my NC25 friend who came with me she bought 2 as well.

Quads major disappointment the pink one the worst just like temptalia said very chalky, the lady justice quad not much there, the green one the one that i had my hopes for that colour the name escapes me this moment...the one that temptalia did a comparison of bottle green on very chalky! that quad isn't worth the $40.
Blushes- MA blush did nothing for my skin tone the lighter colour was ashy but the darker colour was nice the only problem is is that it's the small part of the blush. I'd rather buy NARS Cactus flower blush something I need for $2 more it was nothing like I expected I has hoping it'll be like BOA blush. AP blush was very nice but I have band of roses already so I passed.
Lipsticks-Marquise'd settled in the lines of my lips, and it felt a little dry on not the characteristic of a lustre so I passed, I own Russian red so I skipped, spitfire didn't do much for me and Heroine looked really nice but I hate frost lipsticks my lips felt really dry..
The lipglasses they're a bit awkward to use, like wonder woman a lot I may get that if it comes to the CCO.

I also got the eye shadows that I wanted from peacocky collection. i went to pro and they were out of bottle green but I swatched the tester i love it! can't wait til it comes in the next shipment.

When I read Temptalia's review on this collection, I was disappointed. I'm actually going to skip the quads all together and will get Mighty Aphrodite Blush Duo and Golden Lariat MSF.

Now this isn't the best picture of me but I wanted to show the girls with questions about Russian Red looking good on someone who is around NC20 that it does indeed look nice. It is one of my favorite reds.
