MAC - Wonder Woman Discussion

I ended up ordering a few things from this collection after I had supposedly convinced myself to skip it. It is like a sickness. I got the email, clicked on the link, and suddenly products were flying into my cart.

I ended up with:
Army of Amazons
Marquis D
Athena's Kisses 1/g
Wonder Woman l/g
Mighty Aphrodite

I passed on the quads b/c my MUA was able to show me these ahead of time (along with a couple of other things) and they really aren't anything special. I don't know how I will feel about using the ginormous doe foot applicator. It just looks bizarre.

BTW my MUA told me this past weekend that there were over 600 people signed up for the preview party - and this is a tiny MAC store in Southern Cal. This is why she actually told me not to come & showed me stuff ahead of time.

I feel proud of myself. I was at the mall, at my fave MAC counter and...walked away from the release party. I knew that if I stayed I wouldn't be able to resist getting something, and the one thing I honestly would want from this collection I feel is in no danger of selling out (the blue makeup bag). Money saved! That and there was going to be free cocktails and I knew if I had one I'd be out...such a lightweight. >_<

My fave MA had on eyeshadows from the Valiant quad and they looked chalky, and she's a shade or two lighter than me. :/ Man, this collection could've been the death of me, so I'm half glad and half sad that this collection was so...meh.

There is! At least its on the Canadian site LOL If you go to the WW color collection page and scroll down to the bottom, there's a cartoon screen. You can scroll through several cartoon looks. Click on any picture and another window will pop up to give you the product detail.
Yeh its on the US site under the products. You can scroll through and click on it to get a pdf file with comic and details, very cute.

^^Wow, I would have thought MA blush. I really wanted to like Pink Power but hated that bronzer in the middle.

I'm guessing that they had less stock of the MSF. After the mad rush on Ripe Peach last year, they probably anticipated the blushes being a big hit.

OMG! What wonderful bastards they are!

Fed me alcohol all night long!

I got Amazon Princess Blush, Red Russian l/s(don't have it; love it in the packaging), Heroic l/s, Bulletproof Makeup Bag (blue foil), and Obey Me n/p and rr l/p for a friend!

Super Persuasive, Super Drunk!

Edit: Packaging is gorgous! I wish I scrapbooked!

Ok, so I just got home after being at the WW event! Overall, the event was pretty fun. Unlike what an MA had told me, there wasn't a photobooth per say but a guy taking photos on an iphone which turned them into a cute little comic strip. There was also a gorgeous model in thigh-high red boots, hot pants and a gold top. She looked amazing! There was also cocktails, little cupcakes and cookies.

As far as the collection goes, I pretty much liked everything I thought I would. My haul was:
Mighty Aphrodite blush duo
Amazon Princess " "
Marquise D' l/s
Athena's Kiss l/g

I have to say, I was really underwhelmed with Spitfire l/s which is one I thought I would get. To me, it looked like a toned down version of Up the Amp and just wasn't worth it to me. I hadn't planned on getting Marquise D' but it's just such a great everyday colour for me and I looove the lipstick packaging. The quads were uninspiring, and the pigmentation wasn't great, as expected. The mascara colours are absolutely gorgeous, especially the green one. If I hadn't had such a bad experience with Opulash, I would have definitely picked one or two of those up.

Overall, I'm happy with what I got -I didn't go crazy, but I got things that I really like.
Hope everyone is enjoying their hauls!

Just tried on Athena's Kiss at home...it's GORGEOUS!!!

It is so much prettier on than I was expecting. Also, I have smaller lips and the applicator was no problem at all.
