Elegant- I understand your frustration. We have a lot of places I can go here in Montreal, but it basically breaks down that I can't ever go to just one of them. Holt Renfrew has Chanel, Guerlain, Dior, Armani, NARS, Bobbi Brown, YSL and the small but interesting Tom Ford lipstick collection (exclusively), but no Mac. Ogilvy's has Chanel, a stand-alone Mac store, Guerlain, Chanel, Cle de Peau (exclusively), Dior but no BB, Armani, YSL or NARS. The Bay has Mac, Guerlain, Chanel, NARS and YSL, but no BB or Armani. Murale has Guerlain, Chanel, BB, Nars but no Dior, Armani or Mac.
It's impossible to look at everything I want without making at least two stops downtown. Oh, and the Mac Pro store isn't at all close to any of these.
Our drug stores carry high end brands, but it can vary pretty significantly from one store to another, depending on where the store is and what chain it belongs to.
And did I mention that there are two Sephoras, but they're in the suburbs, far away from where I live?
I did make a point at stopping at the two places that sell Bobbi Brown and neither of them had the new lippies... No Guava or Sweet Nectar for this girl...

Adding Cashmere and Legende to cart as we type . . . I know, what is up with those crap-ola swatches?? All of them are brown, brown, and dark brown.
Don't even know if this link with work -- but this is a pic of me wearing my sample of Legende. I wore my matching raspberry pink top (which I know is a no-no).
HG -- now I just need some matching pink pants as well!
Elegant -- I just saw the model on ANTM that was in the bubble and fell. Where do they come up with this stuff? We really must all watch that show together so we can chat about it on the board!

Legende doesn't look anything like brown!
They should stop hiring colour blind people, who come up with the swatch colours.
Maybe one day they will come up with the ideal way of reflecting product colours in web stores.
For now, I'd just be happy with product photo at least!
Yeah, HG, the shops close super early here. I can only shop on my day off, which is today, Saturday, and also last Sunday of the month!
I wish they would do away already with the age-old law that forbids shops to be open on Sunday. At least it's not as bad as in France, when grocery stores close for lunch break for the whole hour. So fat chance, if you didn't buy your lunch earlier, the whole store closes down!
I loved the fact that I could go to a shop at any silly o'clock, when I lived in America as an exchange student. That was really back in the days, when me and my friends would "hang out" in places like Wal-mart.
OMG, thinking of this, I bought my very first lipstick at Walmart! I still have it, as a little keepsake. There is just a little bit left, cos I used to finish my make up back then Now i hardly ever look at make up in drug stores. I guess I'm a snob too? I think exactly the same way you ladies do... Whaaat, 15 euro for a L'oreal lipstick? I can buy Mac one, or add some more money and get myself ....[insert high end brand name here]!

I got a mailer from Dior on the launch of the new Addict l/s. Will go check them out for sure. But I didn't like the old ones, I had a pink one and I didn't like the colour. I also didn't like the packaging. It was translucent dark blue, so the new ones look prettier. Tragically, the bullet broke off and dropped on my office's toilet floor so I trashed it. The bullet is very soft so only twist up a little bit for application. I twisted up the whole bullet to apply lol, and so this is the story of my first high-end brand l/s. I still have the case!
I watched ANTM until cycle 11 or something. I liked it a lot but now I'm busy catching other shows lol.
Beautiful! THis reminds me I have a mini Legende but haven't been using it much.

Eleentje, we used to have 'blue laws' here too - in the South the stores aren't allowed to open until 1:00 (after church) on Sundays......where I live they at least open around 11, some at 12. And yes, the French definitely have their own way of doing things!

Well, off to see about some breakfast - this is such a short trip that I really don't readjust to the time change - it's 4:45 here and I just can't sleep any longer!
