Thanks ladies! I really must buy Legende. I remember loving it so much -- I am going to get it ASAP!

Katred -- I have been wanting to break out all of my brighter colors -- I am so tired of winter here! I will just break them out anyways!
heart.gif

Eleentje -- I know -- the swatches really are ridiculous. I mean, don't they want people to buy their lipsticks?? That is too funny about Wal Mart! My sister had an exchange student live with her and she said she would crack up at all of the "super stores" in the US -- too funny
girlhaha.gif

MisQQ -- You'll have to break out your mini Legende :) I am anxious to see these new Dior lipsticks -- I need to call my counter about it. If you get to test them, for sure let us know how you like them!

Bis -- I think I paired the Legende with MAC Pink Treat liner -- (just in case you need to buy something else LOL). Tee hee -- I am such an enabler! But I always want all of the things you ladies are trying out also! We are doomed! (And I am out of storage space also)

Thanks, Cheryl -- good, I will continue to match my shirt with my lipstick!

Sometimes you just have to break the rules!! Enjoy your time in Cali :)

^^ Thanks for the link. The pic is the one printed in my mailer! Pink Cherie sounds gorgeous, it also matches my Miss Dior Cherie perfume lol.

I like to go matchy matchy with makeup and clothes sometimes too. It makes me feel like a teenager - as though I don't know the rules or I don't care anyway. lol

Thanks, Cheryl and bis. I'm certainly enjoying it! No work-related stress, no need to wake up early and not feel exhausted everyday. But I need to watch my spending.

bis - Good to see you in good spirits. Yes, makeup makes very good breaks. I always like to touch up my l/s & gloss.

michelle - yup I will report back if I see the dior l/s. It will be at the counters this weekend or next.

Oh I am super late but let me join Bonitina's fan club! You look so gorgeous!

Today we have a spring day in the south of Spain (we must be close to the 25ºC) so if this continues like this, I might be going for orangy spring lipsticks soon (poor Peregrina and Peche, they are still unused

Hi Almus!!

Sounds like spring is definitely headed your way!! Enjoy your day!

I ordered a couple of the Dior l/s from Sephora (sight unseen - good thing for free returns!) - It Pink, Pink Cherie, Dior Kiss and Tokyo. I can't wait to see them! I really like the looks of a couple of the others, but opted for these.

I guess I do the no-no too and match my lips to what I'm wearing......not always, but sometimes. Can't help it - pink is my favorite color, so I have a lot of it in wardrobe and makeup!!

I was getting excited because the temperature is finally rising to around the freezing mark...

Obviously, I have yet to really crack out the spring lippies, although I have at least taken Jersey rose and Coquette out for a test drive. I figure I'll really know Spring is here when I try out my Dior Spring Pink.

^^ I'm in the same boat....I'm not yet 'feeling' it - we're supposed to get another snowstorm tomorrow, and possibly again on Monday (though Monday could be rain, hard to say yet) so despite the groundhog's predictions, I think we're still a good bit away from spring.

Almus -- thank you! You are lucky to have a glimpse of Spring weather! We actually had a day a few weeks ago where it was 60 degrees F and sunny -- and a few days later it went back to freezing with a snow/rain/hail mix. Ick! At least we have our makeup to keep us occupied
heart.gif

Katred and Cheryl -- I know, it is hard to look Spring-y when the weather is anything but! I cannot wait for February to be over . . . can we seriously all meet up in Hawaii??

^^ Congratulations on your new Flamboyante Kanne!! You're right, there is nothing more satisfying than being the first to use the tester!!! I agree with you 100% on the color - I put off buying it until a couple of weeks ago, and now I'm glad I got it!

The RC Shines are going to be the devil on our wallets, that's for sure! I can't wait to see them!

On a different note, I recently received a couple of new items:

  1. NARS Bankok matte lipstick (thanks for the rec, HG) - it's much smaller than I expected, but the color is pretty and the tube is very lightweight, so it doesn't weigh down my bag.
  2. Sephora Professional airbrush set - this is a set of 6 (I think, I don't have it with me) brushes - good quality, and I like the density of the bristles, as well as the sort of domed shape. I haven't yet tried them (just got them last night) but am anxious to see how they do!
  3. I also received (but haven't yet opened) the La Mer translucent powder (based on Mrslid's rave) - the jar is enormous! I'm a big fan of the BE Feather Light Mineral Veil, and am hoping that this is similar but better! At least I feel like I got my money's worth in terms of quantity - I don't think I'll ever run out......

Off to California - quick trip this time but will be out for the next 3 days - I'll catch up with you ladies this weekend......enjoy the rest of your week!! Hugs!!

HG, I totally agree with you - it's insane how many threads we have to go through - I tend to stick to this one as I know it's generally where everyone will be
girlhaha.gif
.
You'll have to tell me what you think of the La Mer powder!! I still haven't found anywhere that I can order the Translucent shade from :-( I'm dying to try it but I think I'm out of luck....as usual UGH I just want to go shopping at a nice store one day. I mean Toronto is only a little less than two hours away but with two little ones and a hubby you doesn't want you shopping
girlhaha.gif
shopping trips just don't happen.

Wow, you ladies had a nice chat! I was sans hubby last night, which happended to be the same night my son had a "Friendship Concert" at school (it was so cute!), so we were exhausted by the time we made it home, I pretty much went straight to bed!

Cheryl, I'm with you, not feeling too springy yet. We had a few clear sunny days that started to get me thinking about spring, but today is grey and gloomy and we're also expecting snow tomorrow, boo!

Michelle, you are gorgeous! What a nice picture of you and your hubby.

So I'm not even going to look at the Dior lipsticks, lol! I will however be calling the Chanel counter shortly to see when the RC shines are going to be available here. I'm going into withdrawal!

Phew! I think I finally caught up on this thread!

Michelle that is a gorgeous picture of you and your hubby. You guys make such a lovely couple!!

I feel like I have endless lipstick lemmings that I have no control over! I want to try the new BB ones really badly but I'd have to drive 2 hours to a Holt Renfrew because I can't order them through my usual online shopping sites because BB is Canada restricted. GRRRR

Nora -- I am wanting to see those RC shines, too. But it won't keep me from the Dior lippies lol I wish the summer collection would hurry up
heart.gif

Christa -- I hear ya with the lipsticks, BB, Dior, Armani, RC Shines . . . this is not good for my wallet . . .

Hi pretty ladies!
wavey.gif

The hubby whisked me away to the mountains for a few days! It was such a nice romantic surprise and we had a really great time! I wasn't able to get Specktra to work while we were away on the laptop (lol, figures), but other sites worked just fine. Anyway...I'm still trying to catch up, but I just wanted to quickly send everyone hugs. I hope everyone's doing great, miss you all!

That sounds wonderful! The Colorado mountains take my breath away every time. Were you in Aspen?

Thank you, Shypo (I'm sorry, I hope I'll slowly be able to catch on everyone's names on here)! I'm glad I've joined in with this thread! Everyone is so friendly, funny and give each other heads up on the new great stuff. So what, if my "want" list has exploded with lots of new stuff I want to try, haha.
I've just managed to snap some Le Metier de Beaute stuff (mainly glosses and lipsticks, and also their eyelash curler, which is being compared to Shu Uemura's) for cheap on evilbay. I haven't seen much about it online, but the reviews I did see are all very praising. I can't to try everything out!

BB's new lipsticks or on UK websites now as well. I'm tempted to buy sight unseen, but I'll try to hold out and buy them in a shop, when I'll be in London mid-March.

. We're glad you're here! Where did you study as an exchange student? Did you like being here? I have always wanted to visit Holland! Maybe one day I will be able to.

I've spent my exchange year in Iowa, when I was 16. Not exactly "the place to be", but it was still a bit of a culture shock for someone who's never been abroad before. It may have been different, if I was actually Dutch, but I'm originally Ukrainian, so it was a really big big thing for me, even though I lived in a town with 20,000 population. For me, even local Walmart was a "superstore". Needless to say, I loved it when I went shopping in Chicago downtown or in the Mall of America!

In general, I've had good times, and bad. I think that spending a year away from your family in a different country would be tough for anyone, esp. if you're right in the midst of your puberty. I think my host family also haven't thought too well about it, when they've taken the exchange student in, and maybe had some kind of high expectations of what I would be like, cos there were moments when I felt like I was a burden to them. In the end everything has worked out well; they're really sweet people and we still keep in touch, 12 years later. I think this experience has also really helped me to become more mature and independent. Where was the exchange student from, who stayed with your sister, Bonitinha?

I hope that one day you will be able to visit Holland! It may be not the most exciting or glamorous place to go to, but there are plenty of nice things to see. It's great for a nice, relaxed holiday: a bit of culture, a bit of history and a bit of beautiful landscape (I admire the Dutch for winning most of the country's land from the sea-- most of Holland is below the sea level). I'd say, keep a close watch at the airline ticket sites, and sometimes you can find really good deals there! I went to visit my cousin in Portland (ME) 2 years ago, and paid something like $500 for my flight!
