MAC Quite Cute Discussion

Guess this is one I'll have to swatch in person. I was disappointed with Surf swatches too. What's a girl to do?? LOL I hope something from Quite Cute catches my eye because the release is the day before my birthday and I was planning a MAC/H&M shopping spree (luckily for me they're directly across from each other in the mall

Thanks for re-posting that link! It reminded me of why I was so sure I wanted the quad to begin with. Again, everyone's reviews are subjective and whether something looks good or not can have a lot to do with the skin tone of the person swatching it. I don't think that this will go down as one of Mac's great collections (I swear, they seem to do great collections only on even-numbered years), but I'm not writing it off yet.

I was really disappointed when I seen Ts review last night but your link has made me reconsider I'm not lucky enough to have a mac counter any where near me so I have to order online and use reviews/swatches to help me decide what to buy - after seeing the link you posted miss behave, the quad and giggly may be back in the running!

I'm so confused, sad & disappointed. I was looking forward to this collection for the last three months. I am considering just getting a few lipsticks. Holding off on the cute blushes and eyeshadow quad. I know that there will be more collections coming out & I will hopefully see some stuff I want from those.

For those of you who do buy the blushes & quad, please let us know how you like them. You can't always go by others swatches & reviews.

Also in my opinion the quad is not bad at all! But I'm not interested in it.. I will create my first own quad soon!!

I tend to be fairly wary of swatches on Temptalia because the bright lighting she uses on her lip shots don't represent real-life lighting. I wish she would use more natural lighting that wasn't quite so direct -- I have bought lippies because they looked so sparkly and and pretty in the photos only for them to look nothing like that in reality. (Admittedly, my lips are pigmented, too, which is part of the problem in trying to buy based on her swatches.)

Yet other sites have really dark, underexposed lighting, so that's bad too. I guess really bright is better than too dark.

I hate to complain, I love reading early reviews and seeing swathes to get an idea before shopping, Who has the best lighting do you think? Probably Karla...

This brown girl is only getting Play Time, a definite and maybe Candy Yum Yum (have to see on me with the right liner). I love the boldness of Candy Yum like you stepping off the runways. Everything else would just look like colored chalk. I am running to the other collections like the peach highlighter and Give me Sun MSF that day.

She actually purchases most of the collections. She had to purchase all of Wonder Woman.

nope that was all sent to her by mac. sometimes mac only send bloggers a couple of items from collections. then some bloggers by the rest to go with it. but she was sent wonder woman.

Ok, I agree the swatches were pretty anti-climatic. I still will swatch everything in store though. I might still get the quad and I know for sure I will get Boldly Bare l/l. I already have In Synch, Naked and Trimmed and Pink and used them on daily basis.

Question for HerGrayness - from this collection, what do you recommend for someone who's light (but not fair) with neutral to cool undertones? I'm about a NW23 (if they ever made that shade, lol).
