I wasn't expecting to like the quad as much as I do from Karla's swatches... I also didn't realise that Sari d'Oré was being re-released. I still think I want Mimosa (although I'm not sure it'll work against my pale. pinkish skin tone) and Rose Platine looks lovely, but I don't know how much effect I'll really get out of an eye liner, no matter how lovely. I'm really thinking I want that quad now, which is bad. Plus there's NARS. And Mac. And the Rouge Automatiques...

Well, I almost didn't get Mimosa after wanting it, but when I saw it in person it seemed a bit lighter & not quite so scary. I have the same skin tone as yours, so we'll see. I have found that by using Opi quick dry top coat over all my np that it makes them glossy & even.

Katred, did you see my post in the Ratonas thread? I got 2 of the Automatiques last night - LOVE them! I have swatches of all of them and will try to post pics tomorrow, hopefully in better light than I had today. The swatches end up looking more sheer than the colors actually apply, but at least you can get an idea of tone. I had a hard time deciding which ones to get.....I almost bought another one tonight, but decided to wait. I ended up with a couple of Laura Mercier eye colors instead, and a sample of the new BB foundation, which is quite nice....though I don't know if I like it better than LM.

I also found out that MAC is going to have new eye colors coming out that are metals again, but this time with crushed gems in them - not sure what that's about, but I'm hoping to get more info. Those will be this summer......

And I also read in Allure that the Chanel cream shadows and Graphite np will be available in July.

elegant - gorgeous nails! I was going to ask you how many coats until I read 4. Maybe you can give it a try at the jelly look that winthrop said. I still think I want it. I have to see Mimosa in person before deciding. It looks very bright but the shimmers look unique.

cheryl - thanks for the pics! I want the duo. I've been trying do to all my eye makeup with just two colours and so far I'm enjoying it. Easy and fast to apply. So the duo is perfect for such application.

^^MissQQ I hope you are able to get everything!! I'm with you on the 2-color eye - it is so very easy! I just wish the other duo colors had either suited me, or performed for me. But I love the others I have and always reach for Taupe-Delicat.

I think it's supposed to be a jelly finish, so give it a try that way - I think it's very pretty. Here's what Sabrina says:

"It applies like a jelly color - slightly transparent. I asked for 3 coats because I wanted more color but 2 coats was just fine"

I love Miami Peach Le Vernis and Misia Rouge Coco Shine! Does anyone know if it will be released in the UK? I hate it when I fall in love with products I can't buy

I do! It is similar to Camelia with more gold shimmer, making it look warmer, at least on my skin. Can't say Karla's pics look like that. I posted comparison pics of them awhile ago but I don't think I uploaded to here and don't see them on MUA anymore either. Erased my hard drive since then but I'll look & see if it's still on my camera.

Gardenia is a warm rose on me. It's more pink than Mademoiselle. I love it.

Here's Sabrina's old review of Gardenia. She says it's a warm pink with cool pink shimmer. What do I know? lol In any case the overall effect is warmer than Camelia, which many people compared it to way back.

I really wanted to like the quad and the bronzer. Wore them every day this week hoping they would grow on me; they didn't, I returned them today.

The colors in the quad are pretty and I would say the swatches on Karla's blog are accurate but they are heavy (meaning you need to really dig into the colors to get them to turn up like that). All the colors have some level of shimmer. I found when I applied them to my eye, I saw more shimmer than color. I couldn't justify paying $57 for something that didn't blow me away.

My intention was to use the rose bronzer as a blush, when I mixed the colors and applied it, the color was just 'meh'. Really nothing special about this. It looks pretty in the palette, but I didn't see me making much use of this so back it went.

I did keep the pensee and aurora glosses. I like aurora the most and I think it's pretty versatile.

Hope this helps anyone who hasn't seen this collection in person. Overall, my advice is that nothing here is a must have.

OK I am rethinking my decision to pass on Aurore and Rose Platine. Any thoughts? I am NW15/N2 coloring with black hair and green eyes.

I just bought rose plantine liner at a Macy's counter. It's absolutely stunning! I just couldn't leave without it. Pensee and sari dore lipstick are great, too but they will have to wait. I swatched the coral bronzer but it just didnt wow me enough to justify the price. I was tempted to buy more lip shines, but I resisted. At least I did get a sample of 4 different shades.
